Recently, Together in Caring assisted an individual who had been struggling to navigate the VA Aid & Attendance pension benefit process.
After submitting paperwork and documentation independently and receiving multiple denials, they were feeling overwhelmed and unsure of where to turn next. With limited financial resources, there was also growing concern about being able to continue living safely and independently in the community they called home.
Our team stepped in to review the situation, help navigate the process, and provide guidance on the documentation needed to move forward.
We were thrilled to recently learn that the benefit was approved!
The individual will now receive ongoing monthly financial assistance, along with a significant retroactive benefit.
More importantly, this additional support can help provide access to the assistance needed to remain in the community they love and continue aging in place.
Navigating VA benefits can be complicated, and approval can never be guaranteed. But understanding the process and having knowledgeable support along the way can make an incredible difference.
