The C Section/ Pre-Eclampsia storyline on The Pitt put me on the edge of my seat. My thoughts as an ObGyn: The Good: - Showcasing that even low risk pregnancies can quickly turn high risk - That conditions like pre-eclampsia can lead to severe morbidity and mortality, especially when not recognized or treated early - Focus on the ABSs during eclampsia and during a code The Could Have Been Better - CALL AN OB CODE TO THE TRAUMA BAY. one single L&D nurse is not enough - Please call for the obstetrician - Did I mention, call for OB? - Please wipe that baby dry.
