Judith “Judy” Lynn Bittner, 74, of Rochester passed away peacefully after a strong and graceful fight with cancer on Saturday July 18, 2026 at UPMC Passavant Hospital surrounded by her husband, children, and sisters. Judy was born on August 27, 1951 at Beaver Falls Hospital to the late Elizabeth and William Miller. Judy graduated from Ambridge High School in 1969, and after graduation she became a travel agent at AAA where she got to travel the world. She continued as a travel agent for the majority of her career before becoming a paraprofessional at Rochester School District in Kindergarten before retirement. Judy loved many things: staying in the ocean all day, trips to the casino, the stop at Sara’s to get an ice cream cone on her way to Niagara, her lunch dates with friends, watching sports as she laid across her bed, reading historical fiction, and crafting. Most importantly Judy loved her family and friends; she found the most amount of joy in life from being surrounded by her loved ones and being there to support them. Judy had an overflowing amount of pride towards her children and grandchildren as she loved being a mum and Mimi. Throughout her cancer battle, Judy made an effort to show up to each of her grandkid’s events from halftime shows and band concerts to late night hockey games, soccer matches, hot baseball and softball games. Judy was full of love, kindness, and humor and anyone that had the privilege of knowing her understands the lasting impact she leaves behind.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her grandson, Macon Wills Bittner.
She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Mark Bittner. The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to the hospital staff at UPMC Passavant, UPMC Shadyside, and Concordia for all the care and love they showed Judy.
A Celebration of Life for Judy will be held at a later date.
If you wish to make a donation in Judy’s honor, the family asks you to donate to The Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome Foundation at tttsfoundation.org.

He was born with a little something extra, unique to him, and he was extra his entire life. When you met Harold Thomas (Tommy) Irons, you met someone with extra love, extra smiles, and an extra exuberance for life that shined through everything he did. Tommy was extra in every good and loving way. It was only fitting that he passed in the Sweetest Place on Earth.

Our extra special brother Tommy was promoted to heaven on July 3, 2026, where he will continue his life of unending love among angels. He was born November 10, 1961, in Aliquippa Hospital, the third of four children of Robert and Irene (Winkle) Irons. Born before the societal acceptance of Downs Syndrome felt today, Tommy enjoyed a life of inclusion by his immediate and extended family. He was a beloved son and brother who extended joy to everyone he met. His smile was quick, his love unending. Tom was a shining witness of God’s commandment in John 13:34 to “Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”

Tommy graduated from New Horizon School where he was nicknamed ‘the greeter’ and he learned sign language after being assigned the task of walking a fellow student to her class. He also attended HAP Enterprises. He was a member of Service United Presbyterian Church, often welcoming members each Sunday with a firm handshake and a bulletin and collecting the offering. His singing of Doxology was distinguished and memorable. Tommy participated in Special Olympics and won several ribbons. His favorite holiday was a birthday, his own and others, never missing an opportunity to sing “Happy Birthday.” He loved food, ice cream, country music, and dancing. Tommy loved to be dressed in his suit and tie and never missed a chance to dance at family gatherings. He was known for his impeccable manners, hugs, and kisses. Tommy was loved by all who cared for him and left behind cherished stories from family, friends, and caregivers who worked with him daily. No one was ever above his gregarious, loving soul.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, David A. Snow. He is survived by sisters Donna (Lee) Irons-Zimmerman, Melissa Ruttan, and a brother, Elvin Irons; six nieces and nephews, two great-nieces and a great-nephew.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, July 9 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, and Friday, July 10, from 10-11 am, followed by a service presided over by Pastor Tom Knowles, Christian House Baptist Chapel. Burial will follow at John Anderson Memorial Cemetery, 491 Service Church Road, Aliquippa, PA. A reception will be held with details provided later.

In lieu of flowers, the Irons-Zimmerman family requests that donations be made in Tommy’s honor to Special Olympics of PA, 2570 Blvd. of the Generals, Suite 124, Norristown, PA 19403 or online at https://specialolympicspa.org.

The Irons-Zimmerman family would like to acknowledge Tim O’Neill, Verland, who was a tireless advocate for Tommy and shared a great bond. We also recognize Merakey/AVS caregivers for their love and affection for Tommy, especially those who visited him in hospital during his final days. A deep thanks and appreciation to Dr. Tracy Irons-Dieterle for her medical guidance when requested, ensuring Tommy’s best interests were always represented.

With profound sadness and immeasurable love, we announce the passing of John Paul Starasinich, who left this earth on Father’s Day, June 21, 2026, at the age of 53 after a courageous two-year battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born on March 8, 1973, in Rochester, Pennsylvania, John was the son of Donna (Winters) Starasinich and the late Joseph J. Starasinich Sr.

John graduated from Beaver Area High School, where he was a member of the golf team. He later attended Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in History. It was there that he met the love of his life, Dawn (Iorio) Starasinich. Together they built a life centered on family, devotion, and shared adventures, celebrating their 24th wedding anniversary last year. Their greatest blessings are their children, Jonathan and Paige.

Above all else, John cherished his family. He shared a special bond with his mother, Donna, and his brother, Joseph, whose presence in his life meant more to him than words could express. He enjoyed spending time with his family and treasured vacations together. Whether visiting the mountains, enjoying snowfall, or exploring new places, John created memories that will be forever treasured by those who knew him.

While family was at the center of John’s life, he also built a solid career employed by Walt Disney World, the Transportation Security Administration, and Cencora, where he worked as a Patient Services Specialist. He was respected for his dedication and professionalism and formed lasting friendships throughout his career.

John had a lifelong passion for history and was an avid history enthusiast who enjoyed attending historical reenactments. He found peace tending his outdoor garden and took great pleasure in movies, especially the Star Wars series. A devoted sports fan, he faithfully followed the New York Jets and Pittsburgh Penguins. Music was another constant companion in his life, and he especially enjoyed classic rock, particularly Hair Nation.

One of John’s favorite recent memories was celebrating his anniversary with Dawn on a cruise that included a visit to the ancient ruins of Chichén Itzá, a destination that perfectly combined his love of travel and history.

John will be remembered for his courage, kindness, devotion to family, and enthusiasm for the people and interests he loved. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Dawn (Iorio) Starasinich; his son, Jonathan; his daughter, Paige; his mother, Donna (Winters) Starasinich; and his brother, Joseph Starasinich Jr.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph J. Starasinich Sr.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to everyone who supported John throughout his illness with prayers, messages, visits, meals, and countless acts of kindness. Your support carried John and his family through the most difficult season of their lives, and your compassion will never be forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN).

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 from 2~4pm and 6~8pm in Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Moon Twp. 1522 Coraopolis Heights Rd.

Interment will be private.
