For All You Are, We’re Here for It. A 471-bed community hospital in the town of Greece NY. After a four-year total renovation was completed in 2014, Unity is now the only Monroe County hospital to feature all private patient rooms. Unity offers a broad range of specialty centers including the Golisano Restorative Neurology and Rehabilitation Center; the Charles J. August Joint Replacement Center and the August Family Birth Place. The hospital is also a New York State-designated Stroke Center.

We’re proud to announce that Mandy Teeter, MBA, MSW, has been named President of Unity Hospital, effective immediately.

Having previously served as Unity’s Chief Operating Officer and, most recently, Interim President, Mandy brings a deep understanding of the hospital, our team members, and the community we serve.

As President, Mandy will work alongside our incredible Unity team to continue meeting the needs of our patients and families and ensuring they receive the high-quality, compassionate care they deserve.

Last night, we gathered for our annual Remembrance Ceremony to honor the babies loved and missed through miscarriage, stillbirth, infant loss, and SIDS. 🩷🩵

The evening was filled with memory making, readings, songs, and a moment of silence to honor babies lost and hold space for grieving families.

This year, we were honored to present the Lily Award to Christina Ruscio-Fedczuk, Chair of the Star Legacy Foundation - Western New York Chapter. Christina's tireless advocacy has brought families, healthcare professionals, and the pregnancy and infant loss community together here in Rochester, helping raise awareness, provide resources, and support those who are grieving. 🌸

Thank you to the Star Legacy Foundation - WNY Chapter and to the partners, providers, patients, families, and supporters who came together to remember and support those navigating loss.

Celebrating our 5th Annual Doula Education Day at Unity Hospital!

On October 3, we welcomed 45 doulas, birth professionals, and community members to Unity Hospital for a day of learning, connection, and inspiration centered on traditional and alternative strategies for pain management throughout labor and delivery.

From August Family Birth Place tours and OR training for newer doulas to educational sessions led by doulas, nurses, midwives, and other birth and wellness specialists in herbalism, acupuncture, and hypnobirthing, the day was filled with meaningful conversations about supporting birthing parents and their families throughout their birth journeys. Most importantly, it gave our team members and community partners the opportunity to reconnect with the joy and purpose behind birth work.

A special thank you to Beautiful Birth Choices LLC for their continued partnership and support of Doula Day events at both Unity Hospital and Rochester General Hospital.

For positive, empowering birth experiences for our community, we're here for it.

⚠️ Important Measles Safety Alert

To help protect our patients, visitors, and team members, we are asking anyone who may have symptoms of measles or who believes they have been exposed to measles to call ahead for further instruction before visiting any Rochester Regional Health facility.

If you have the following:

🤒 A fever

AND at least one or more of these symptoms:

🔴 Rash
😷 Cough
👁️ Red or watery eyes

OR you believe you have been exposed to measles, please call your provider's office or the healthcare facility you plan to visit BEFORE arriving.

🚫 Do NOT enter the facility until you have spoken with a team member.

Calling ahead allows our staff to provide instructions and take appropriate precautions to help reduce the risk of exposure and keep everyone safe.

😷 If you require urgent or emergency care and cannot call ahead, wear a mask upon arrival and notify staff immediately of your symptoms or possible measles exposure.

This National Rehabilitation Awareness Week, we're celebrating our rehab professionals at Unity Hospital, Golisano Restorative Neurology & Rehabilitation Center, and Park Ridge Living Center.

Our physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and support staff show up every day with compassion and expertise to help patients regain strength, restore function, and rebuild confidence.

From first steps to first words, from small victories to major milestones - thank you for walking alongside patients on their journey back to independence. 🩵

Yesterday, patients from our Golisano Restorative Neurology & Rehabilitation Center at Unity Hospital came together for our 3rd annual Walk & Roll - an inspiring celebration of strength, determination, and courage.

Through smiles and cheers, participants walked, rolled, and pushed forward, showing us what resilience really looks like.

Congratulations to everyone who participated, and thank you to our Golisano Rehab team for creating moments that remind us what's possible when we support each other every step of the way.

This National Rehabilitation Awareness Week, we're celebrating those who help patients reclaim strength, movement, and confidence every day. 🩵

Erika Kozlowski, PT, has been part of Rochester Regional Health since 2007, and her journey reflects what's possible when passion meets opportunity.

After starting at Unity Hospital, Erika pursued her interest in women's health and pelvic health physical therapy - a specialty that requires dedication, advanced training, and a commitment to compassionate, collaborative care.

Over the years, Erika has grown her expertise through continuing education and now works closely with the OBGYN team at our Pelvic Health Center and refers providers to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.

"Not only do I feel my growth has occurred in something I love, but I feel like the care I can offer our patients has grown," Erika shared.

To Erika and all our rehabilitation professionals who help patients build strength, restore function, improve communication, and regain independence: thank you for the difference you make in the lives of our patients. We're proud to support your growth and grateful for the care you provide. 🌟

Welcome Vijaya Kankanala, MD to Lipson Cancer Institute at RGH and Unity Hospital! 👋

Dr. Kankanala is an oncologist and hematologist who specializes in gastrointestinal, colon, re**al, gastric, esophageal, pancreatic, biliary, lung, and other cancers. She believes medicine is about more than treating disease - it's about caring for people and supporting them through every step of their journey.

When she’s not at work, you'll find her hiking in nature, cooking flavorful meals for family and friends, and traveling to discover new places. ✈️
