Every year, Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service provides Landing Zone Safety training for first responders, ambulance services, and fire departments throughout the communities we serve.
Last night, with the help of the Stewartville Fire Department and the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Department, we updated the training video used to support this important education.
Our crews rely on strong partnerships with public safety agencies to help create safe landing zones during emergency scenes, and this training plays a vital role in keeping everyone safe.
Thank you to our Content Production Specialist, crew members, the Stewartville Fire and Rescue, the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office, and everyone who worked behind the scenes to bring this project together. We are grateful for your time, teamwork, and continued commitment to safety!

Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service is pleased to announce that Garett has accepted the role of Assistant Supervisor for Mankato Operations, effective August 26, 2026.
Garett has been part of Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service since 2014, serving as an EMT, Paramedic, Trainer, and Lead. Throughout his career, he has been known for his strong work ethic, steady leadership, and dedication to supporting his colleagues and the communities we serve.
In his new role, Garett will help support daily operations, assist team members, and contribute to safe, effective, and patient-centered care in the Mankato area.

Congratulations to Michael Swoboda, M.B.A., Paramedic, FP-C, on being selected as the next Director of Education and Training for Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service.
Michael has been part of Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service since 2008, serving in a variety of roles that reflect his dedication to emergency medical services, education, and compassionate patient care. Over the years, he has helped support staff development, strengthen training efforts, and encourage the growth of current and future EMS professionals.
In his work as an Education Specialist, Michael has played an important role in planning courses, supporting classroom and hands-on training, helping recruit and develop candidates, and evaluating programs. His involvement in the Earn as You Learn initiative also shows his commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for people beginning their careers in EMS.
Congratulations, Michael! We are excited for this next chapter and grateful for your continued dedication to Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service and the communities we are honored to serve.
