What is Bulimia Nervosa (BN)?

BN often includes episodes of binge eating large amounts of food in a short period of time, often in secret.

Typically following binge eating episodes, individuals will engage in compensatory behaviors such as self-induced vomiting, diuretic/laxative use, fasting/restricting, excessive exercise, or manipulation of insulin dosage.

Increased awareness and understanding of different Eating Disorder diagnoses is important for decreasing stigma and helping people seek out the support that they need!

Eating Disorder recovery is possible and we are here to help.

Too often, Eating Disorders go undiagnosed or untreated. Identifying ED symptoms as early as possible is crucial for helping people get the support that they need.

Early treatment reduces:

- Overall cost of care

- Number of hospitalizations or intensive care episodes

- Strain on individuals and loved ones

- Intensity of symptoms over an individual's lifetime

What can I do if I'm having a tough day with Eating Disorder recovery?

Step back, take a deep breath, and ask yourself: "How can I show myself compassion today?"

We all have tough days and recovery doesn't need to be perfect to be valid. What's important is that you keep showing up for yourself.
