Why as a society have we conditioned women to believe it’s normal to feel miserable in pregnancy, that weight gain doesn’t matter and that simply taking your prenatal is enough?

Q: Is pineapple safe in pregnancy?
A: Absolutely! It does not cause preterm labor.

Q: Can I eat tuna? Isn’t it high in mercury?
A: Skipjack and canned light tuna are low mercury options and can be enjoyed regularly. You can also buy Safe Catch tuna which tests for mercury levels.

Q: What prenatal vitamin should I be taking?
A: We really need to know your vitamin D levels, ferritin, omega-3 status and current diet to know what nutrients you’re missing before we start taking supplements. Let’s check your nutrient labs first!
