The pressure for adults to protect kids from every hard thing is real, but not realistic. Challenging experiences are inevitable and learning how to move through them ultimately helps kids build their distress tolerance, resilience and problem-solving skills over time.

When kids are overwhelmed by school or struggle to keep up with assignments, it affects their mental health and their confidence, potentially leading to poor academic outcomes. Sometimes one of the best things adults can do is teach kids tools for managing school to help empower them, decrease that stress and feel control of their school day.

🎉 EXCITING NEWS — WE’RE ALMOST THERE! 🎉

Our Rochester Study is getting close to the finish line, and we need just 42 MORE FAMILIES to help us reach our goal! 💙

We are on a mission to better understand what families need to support the mental health and well-being of children and youth — and families in our community can help make that possible.

By participating in our research, you can help us learn more about the experiences of youth and families and contribute to research that may help improve future mental health and su***de prevention efforts.

Scan the QR Code, call/text, or email! Thank you in advance!

Please share this post with families who may be interested. Every share helps us get one step closer to our goal! 💙

Always a good idea to open the channels of communication with our kids! Whether you are a parent, legal guardian, uncle/aunt, grandparent, etc., you can ALWAYS break the ice first with simple conversations! Simple conversations leads to more trust and more trust leads to heavier topics! Start slow! :)

There's more to conversations than simply asking kids how things are going. Adults also need to know how to listen, respond and fight the impulse to take charge of the conversation.
