John D. Patty, 77, passed away on May 27, 2026. Born on October 29, 1948, in Gaffney, South Carolina, John lived a life defined by service, dedication, and deep love for his family and country.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel Duvall Patty and Juney Walter Patty.

A proud graduate of Gaffney High School, John answered the call to serve his nation by joining the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. From 1967 to 1970, he served aboard L.S.T. (Landing Ship Tank) 1032, patrolling the Mekong Delta region of South Vietnam. During his military career, he atained the rank of Petty Officer Third Class and proudly served all 32 months of his deployment in Vietnam. His military service
remained one of the proudest accomplishments of his life.

Following his return home, John attended Cleveland Technical Institute and went on to build a career marked by hard work and determination. Over the years, he owned an auto parts store, worked in sales, and served as the Veteran’s Affairs Officer for York County, South Carolina. He later became a truck driver before retiring in 2016.

In 1989, John became actively involved in the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), where he dedicated countless hours advocating for and supporting fellow veterans. He held numerous leadership positions at both the local and state levels, including Post Quartermaster and Commander in Gaffney. Within the Department of South Carolina, he served as Judge Advocate, Inspector, Junior Vice Commander, and Senior Vice Commander before being elected State Commander of South Carolina for 1997–1998, representing more than 20,000 VFW members across the state. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Masonic Lodge.

John will be remembered for his generous spirit, fantastic sense of humor, and his ability to make friends wherever he went. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need.

Outside of his service and work, John enjoyed golfing, camping, and following motorsports. After returning home from Vietnam, he spent years building and racing dirt track cars alongside family and friends at racetracks throughout the Southeast, winning a total of 77 races. Racing remained one of his lifelong passions. On Sunday afternoons, everyone knew where John would be – watching the race. He also enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Our mom, Rachel A. Reeves, who was the mother of Steve (Marti) of Rock Hill, Phil (Gail) of Florida and Colorado, and Mark (Heidi) of Seneca, and the wife of Ronald L. Reeves (who passed away in 1998), peacefully entered the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, during her sleep on May 30, 2026, at the age of 92 after a brief illness following a stroke. Mom was a member of the non-denominational group of Believers in Jesus Christ and who are Gathered simply in the name of Jesus Christ.

In her later years, she attended First Baptist Church in Rock Hill, SC with her son, Steve Reeves and daughter in law, Marti Reeves where she enjoyed the fellowship of other believers. She was especially fond of Jamie Burdette and Pastor Steve Hogg whose weekly sermons she would not fail to miss via live stream, even from her later home in Seneca, SC. Mom also appreciated the friendship of so many in the Senior Adult Department at First Baptist Church in Rock Hill, including Annette a special friend. Mom was the oldest sister to six siblings, David (deceased), twins, Carolyn (Ken), and Marilyn (Dave), Don ( Maryanne), Dan (Sherry), and Tim (Sally) To her boys, she was simply Mom; to her seven grandchildren she was known as Grandma; and to her 11 great grandchildren, she was often affectionately referred to as Grandma Great.

Mom embraced Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior early in life and lived a long, meaningful life, faithfully serving her Lord until her passing. As the daughter of missionary parents, she was born on the mission field in Panzi, Bandundu, Congo, in 1933, where her parents, C. Dan Andersen and Martha Andersen, were full-time missionaries. She shared countless and riveting stories from those days with her children and grandchildren, captivating them with tales filled with references to Monkey’s, Hippo’s, Boabab trees, her first boyfriend N’Jini, but mostly she wanted her family to know about God’s Grace and Power and come to know Him as their personal Savior. She was a dedicated prayer warrior for her family, and it was widely known that when anyone needed prayer for anything, Mom/Grandma/Grandma Great was the one we all wanted on the job. Mom spent most other adult life in Des Moines, Iowa, where she was a legend among her three sons and their friends for her baking skills, her sly Mexican Train cheating occasionally, and sometimes providing a baker’s sheet of freshly baked cinnamon rolls at midnight to a backyard garage full of teenage mechanics. She was equally well-known to most of the junk yards and pull-a-part places in town for her ability to find just the right obscure part for a project one of her sons was working on in that garage. Also for her skill in removing the part and negotiating the best price for it. Mom also was a supportive partner for our dad, Ron Reeves, often joining him on his various trips across the United States and Canada in evangelical service to the Lord. Mom was a person of great faith, and her greatest joy was seeing her family and others come to faith and trust in Jesus Christ for Salvation. She would want you to know Him too!

Ronda Thomas Lessmeister, 75, of Rock Hill, died peacefully in her sleep on May 28, 2026. Ronda was born on November 19, 1950. She was a lifelong resident of Rock Hill, and a member of the 1969 graduating class of Rock Hill High School before attending Winthrop College. Ronda spent most of her life as a homemaker. As her children grew, she went on to work for the Rock Hill School District in several capacities. She then worked for United States House of Representatives member Sue Myrick, and later for the Charlotte Knights where she ran the front office.

Ronda loved the sun, her pool, and the beach. She and her late husband, Eric, were avid and talented s**ggers and spent countless hours practicing to beach music in their kitchen with their children watching. They even purchased a jukebox, filled it with beach music records, and proudly displayed it in their home. They competed in many dance competitions, won several titles (even at the professional level), and taught s**g lessons to others locally and at Ocean Drive. They made sure that their children learned to s**g, and often competition weekends were spent together as a family. As her children got older and took on interests and activities of their own, Ronda felt it was appropriate for her to spend her time volunteering in their schools and was president or vice-president of the PTO each year. She gave up her own interests to focus on getting her kids (and other kids) to and from practices, games, and any other activity that the YMCA offered. Ronda was a proud supporter of the YMCA.

Over the years, Ronda enjoyed cross-stitching, solving cross word puzzles, and reading. She was talented in crafts and cooking. She loved to decorate for holidays and each Christmas she turned her home into a beautiful Christmas display. It was common for her Christmas tree to stay up all year. She also enjoyed visiting Maggie Valley with her mother. Ronda thoroughly enjoyed cooking shows, mysteries, and sitcoms. It was not uncommon to walk into her home to find her binge-watching Mama's Family, The Big Bang Theory, and Friends.

Ronda selflessly sacrificed much of her time and energy to support Eric in his role as principal of Rock Hill High School for almost 30 years and opened her home to countless students over the years. He could not have been who or what he was to the school and the community were it not for her. She served as selflessly and passionately as he did though her service was often not seen by the public.

Ronda's children's friends were always welcomed with a smile, were given all the snacks they could want, and would freely go in and out of the door as much as her own children. Ronda was a devoted wife and mother, but her greatest joy came from being a grandmother. She especially loved seeing her grandchildren pursuing their educations, learning their trades, working at Camp Cherokee and the YMCA, serving the community around them, and of course, carrying on the family tradition of s**gging.

Ronda was predeceased by her beloved husband, Eric; her granddaughters, Addison and Bailey, and her precious grandson, Kolby, who was without doubt, her first hug in Heaven. She was also predeceased by her parents, Fleeta Clinton (Tommy) Lewis and Harold Leroy Thomas; her in-laws Gene (Tootsie) and Elsie Lessmeister; her brother, Danny Ray Thomas; and her brother-in law, Kim Lessmeister.

Ronda is survived by her children, Lori (Lee) Stoneburner, Brooke (Tony) Breeden, and Bradley Lessmeister; her grandchildren, Dylan (Jack) Gunnels, Austin (Megan) Breeden, Breanna (Coleman) Hoffman, Austin Gunnels, Lily (Noah) Gammons, Taylor Stoneburner, Devin (KJ) Breeden, Braden Lessmeister, Leyna Stoneburner, Emilee Lessmeister, and Briggs Lessmeister; her great-grandchildren, Ada, Kolby, and Isaac; her sister, Jeanie Thomas (Jimmie) Cox; her sisters-in law Peggy Thomas, Barbara Ann (Jim) Lewis, Janet (Al) Lessmeister, Tracy Lessmeister, Debbie (David) Haimes, and Kim (Allen) Percival; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is also survived by those that entered her home and her heart as friends of her children and grandchildren over the years. Not a single one was ever forgotten, and her door was always open to them.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Greene Funeral Home (Northwest Chapel). A funeral will follow at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Jason (Tanya) Demby, whom Ronda considered her fourth child, officiating the service.

The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation for Hospice and Community Care of Rock Hill who assisted her children in making sure that she could be cared for at home. The people who are called to serve in these roles are genuine blessings to all.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that consideration be given to gifting Camp Cherokee with a memorial in Ronda's honor to help send children to camp through the Kolby Hudson fund. Memorials may also be made to the Sheriff's Foundation of York County to benefit the York County Police Cadets.

Lucius Loyd Ardrey passed away peacefully on Friday, May 15, 2026 at his home. He was born on March 19, 1949, and adopted into the loving family of L.L.(Ick) and Sara Ardrey, very appropriately on the Saturday before Mother’s Day. Loyd always described that day as the luckiest day of his life. For the Ardreys, it was equally so.

Loyd attended Winthrop Training School (WTS), and graduated from Rock Hill High. After attending Spartanburg Junior College and serving in the National Guard, he returned home and began a career in the printing industry alongside his father at Record Printing. He later opened his own successful printing company, Regal Graphics, where he built a reputation for excellence and integrity. After many years in the printing business, Loyd sold the company, retiring only briefly before stepping into the role he was truly born for – owner of Ebenezer Grill.

With his courtly manners, renowned sartorial style, and penchant for remembering names, Loyd welcomed his many friends and loyal patrons to dine on the best hot dogs and barbecue in town. With his beloved companion and partner, Diane, by his side “The Grill” became a local institution where everybody knows your name.

Loyd was known for his compassion for the less fortunate and his quiet generosity. He faithfully supported Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen, Haven Men’s Shelter, and many other causes, giving without fanfare and always with kindness.

A devoted and enthusiastic member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Loyd especially cherished his Sunday School family. Ever dapper and warmly welcoming, he made everyone feel at home.

Loyd is survived by his beloved companion, Diane Belk Simrill, and his sister Ann Ardrey Spencer. He was adored by nephews Rob Spencer (Ann) of Louisville, Ky, Chaplin Spencer (Karen), and niece Nolie Spencer Futch (Hank) all of Rock Hill, SC, grand nieces and nephews Saxby Spencer, Spencer Futch, Hannah Spencer, Sam Spencer, Will Spencer, and Henry Futch.

As Loyd would often say, “Always lucky!” In a beautiful reflection of that spirit, he was joyfully “adopted” once again – this time into Diane’s large and loving Belk family, where he was affectionately known as “Uncle Loyd” and “Uncle Ebenezer”. He was dearly loved by Diane’s son Gary Simrill (MaryRuth), and her grandchildren Mallory Simrill Stewart (Dylan), SarahKate Simrill, and Dozier Simrill.

He is further survived by his extraordinary Ebenezer Grill family: Taj, Chris, Robert, Barry, Amanda, Ella, Cynda, Tracey, Beth, Chad, and Jack.

The family is eternally grateful for Carol Myers and Josef Lowery of Superior Concierge Nurses, truly angels on earth, whose compassionate care was an immeasurable gift.

Deep gratitude is also extended to Patti Elam and Tom Givens for their devoted service and for the selfless generosity of their time, love, and care.

A celebration of the enchanted life of Loyd Ardrey will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Westminster Presbyterian Church Sanctuary, 1300 India Hook Road, Rock Hill, with a reception following in Westminster Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1300 India Hook Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732 or Hospice & Community Care, PO Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 29732. The service will be streamed at the following site: https://boxcast.tv/view/lloyd-ardrey-funeralchztbvb9t9sjbrxalkdl

Rock Hill, SC – Judith “Judy” Boone Williams, 85, passed away peacefully on the evening of May 4, 2026.

Judy was born in Rock Hill on February 20, 1941, the only child of the late Frank Nelson Boone and Alfleta Miller Boone.

She is survived by her daughters, Lauren Williams Ludlam (Keith) and Meredith Williams Berryhill (Ben); her grandchildren, Sophie Lenora Spencer (fiancé, Ger), Zachary Williams Ludlam (Barbara), Alexa Ludlam Ledford (Tyler), Erica Schneider, and Raymond Ben Berryhill; and her three great-grandchildren, Lenora Ludlam, Gracie Schneider, and Luke Schneider. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Daren Spencer.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roderick Clark Williams, and her oldest daughter, Christie Williams Spencer.

Judy graduated from Rock Hill High School in 1959, where she proudly served as a majorette. One of her favorite memories was when the band was selected to perform in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. She later attended Winthrop University before marrying her high school sweetheart, Rod, in 1962.

Together, Judy and Rod were the picture of true love — soulmates who genuinely enjoyed simply being together. Whether they were dancing, laughing until they cried, or taking a spontaneous last-minute trip with no luggage, they found joy in every moment spent side by side.

Judy was a devoted member of St. John’s Methodist Church, where she formed many treasured friendships. Throughout the years, she was also active in numerous social groups, including the Junior Welfare League, several bridge clubs, garden clubs, dance clubs, her cherished “Tuesday Night Friends,” and her beloved “Lunch Bunch.”

Her daughters credit her with teaching them the importance of finding a partner who would be a gentleman, a protector, and a best friend — and of never underestimating the importance of laughter in a successful marriage.

Along with spending time with family and friends, Judy enjoyed painting, crossword puzzles, home decorating, ceramics, and creating lasting memories with her daughters and grandchildren. She will forever be remembered for her love of Jesus, her cheerful spirit, her kindness, her unwavering devotion to family and friends, and her ever-present, genuine smile.

She especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren. Some of her happiest moments were simple ones — breakfast dates, spontaneous little concerts listening to them sing, and sharing laughter together. Judy was also known for her deep love of animals, especially the many beloved fur babies she adored throughout her life.

Judy will be remembered as a true social butterfly who nurtured lifelong friendships spanning more than sixty years. Her warmth, laughter, grace, and joyful presence left a lasting imprint on everyone fortunate enough to know and love her.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Neelys Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 974 Neelys Creek Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29730, followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:00 p.m. at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732. The family invites you to wear something colorful to honor Judy’s beautiful life.

Kelly Holland Poore

With broken hearts, we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, wife, and grandmother, who left this world far too soon, but in peace.

Kelly passed away Saturday evening in the arms of her children and husband, without pain.

She was the center of our family’s universe—the kind of woman whose presence filled a room and made everything feel lighter, warmer, and more alive. She is survived by her husband, Bruce Poore, who fell in love with her all over again each time he saw her face; her three children, Allison Lollis, Holly Rome, and Landon Davies, who carry her strength and spirit forward; their spouses, Oliver, Jason, and Liz, who supported the family tirelessly in this final chapter; and her four grandchildren, Ollie, Sophie, Cameron, and Palmer, who were the light of her life.

To know her was to love her. Her generosity and selflessness for those she loved were endless. She had a gravity that drew people in—whether through her kindness or her humor, people sought her out as a friend and confidant. She had a way of making ordinary days feel special and hard days feel survivable. With her by your side, anything felt possible.

But more than anything, she was a fighter—the strongest person we have ever known. She faced more challenges in life than anyone should, yet met them with courage, resilience, and a determination that inspired everyone around her. Even in the hardest moments, she carried herself with grace and an unshakable spirit.
She had so much life in her—so much more to give, so many more memories to make. That is what makes her loss feel impossible. And yet, there is peace in knowing that she is now at rest.
Her love did not leave with her. It lives on in her family—in the laughter she taught us, the strength she showed us, and the deep, enduring bond she created between all of us.

We will miss her every day. We will carry her with us always
Our family plans to celebrate Kelly's life Friday April 24th from 1-3:30pm on the 5th floor of The Pump House. We look forward to being surrounded by stories, memories and people who she touched. All are welcome.
