Anyone else decide to go from winter hibernation to 140,000 steps per day now that it’s warmer out, or was that just me?

We took a trip to the zoo, walks around the park, tackled some yard work, chased toddlers all over the place, and wow do my feet feel it 😱

If you’re having similar pain it could be plantar fasciitis, and more likely than not, your feet aren’t even the issue!

The feet are at the end of the kinetic chain which means dysfunction upstream can show up downstream. The ankles, knees, hips, pelvis, spine, and even your skull are all part of one connected system. Pair dysfunction anywhere in that system with an overloaded nervous system and you’ve got a recipe for problems.

This is why treating the foot might only give temporary relief. The body works as an entire system, not in isolated parts.

I’m about to challenge something that you’ve been told is essential for your baby’s sleep.

Swaddling.

You’ve been told “babies need swaddled to sleep” and “it’s the only way to prevent the startle reflex.”

Here’s what you’re not being told: every time you restrict your baby’s movement, you’re restricting their neurological development.

Your baby’s brain is forming neural connections at a rate that will never happen again. What drives that process? Movement and sensory input. Feeling their body moving through space is literally building their brain. Every kick, reach, grasp, and stretch forms neural pathways, builds their brain-body connection, and integrates sensory information in their nervous system.

Swaddling inhibits all of that!

And that startle reflex you’ve been gaslit into believing is so scary: it’s meant to be there! It’s a primitive reflex that naturally integrates as baby’s nervous system matures. When you restrict it, it can’t integrate (go away).

If your baby won’t sleep without being swaddled, you’re not alone. Babies that “need” swaddling often have nervous system dysregulation. Wrapping them tight isn’t fixing that problem, it’s just masking it.

Chiropractic addresses nervous system deregulation through gentle adjustments. It releases trauma and tension from birth, supports the nervous system, and improves sleep naturally all while allowing the brain to develop as it should. You don’t have to trade development for sleep. There’s another way!

It looks like spring has officially sprung 🌼

As exciting as that is, it can be a tough season for toddler parents. Spring brings a lot of change, and for little ones change can feel chaotic. If it seems like the smallest things are causing massive meltdowns right now, don’t panic.

Regulation requires predictability, and spring is anything but predictable. More daylight, shifting temperatures, pollen, sleep disruptions, new sounds, busier schedules, and more time outside. These small changes can add up in a big way.
Toddlers THRIVE on routine, and theirs just got shaken up. They aren’t being a “bad kid,” their system may simply be overwhelmed.

How chiropractic care can help:
• supports nervous system regulation so they can adapt to stress quicker and easier
• supports better sleep
• supports a healthy immune response
• helps with sensory processing
• builds resilience and healthier patterns over time

If your toddler is struggling this season, we’ve got you 🌼

Did you know your jaw is connected to your pelvic floor? It’s probably never crossed your mind considering they’re on opposite ends of your body!

Your jaw and pelvic floor are connected through your dura (membrane running from skull to tailbone), your fascia (connective tissue web), and your nervous system. Tension at one end can affect the other.

This can show up as a combination of jaw and pelvic symptoms including things like:
• TMJ pain
• teeth grinding
• jaw clenching
• incontinence
• pain with intimacy
• tight hips

Treating JUST jaw pain or JUST pelvic floor dysfunction gives some relief, but you need to address the CONNECTION. Chiropractic does that!

• cervical spine adjustments release tension in the neck and jaw
• sacral adjustments release pelvic floor tension
• full spine adjustments address postural compensations
• nervous system regulation shifts you out of stress mode so both areas can release

Your jaw and pelvic floor aren’t separate issues. They’re opposite ends of the same tension pattern.

Stop treating them in isolation and address the entire system.

Your pregnancy care shouldn’t look the same at 8 weeks as it does at 38 weeks.

Your body, and its needs, change every trimester.

1st Trimester: Adaptation & Regulation
Hormones surge, your system recalibrates. Care focuses on supporting your nervous system and easing early discomfort. Early care sets the foundation for how your body handles the rest of pregnancy.

2nd Trimester: Balance & Stability
As baby grows, your posture shifts. We focus on pelvic balance, spinal support, and creating symmetrical space for growth.

3rd Trimester: Positioning & Preparation
Now it’s about comfort, movement, and helping your body prepare for labor. Consistent care supports more comfort, better nervous system regulation, and better birth outcomes.

Your body is doing something incredible. Your care should evolve with it.

Pregnant or planning? Let’s build your plan.
You (and your baby!) deserve the best chance at your ideal birth.

Let’s talk tongue ties.

Many parents don’t realize that a tongue tie isn’t just about the small piece of tissue under the tongue, but it’s actually about an entire system.

The body is connected by an elaborate connective tissue system called fascia, and the tongue is actually connected all the way down to the toes!

When baby has a tongue tie, their entire body compensates. Tensions builds in the jaw, neck, cranial system, and surrounding structures. Coordinating feeding becomes a major challenge for them. If a release is done before these tension patterns are addressed, feeding challenges can persist.

This is where chiropractic is essential. Structure matters, but function matters more. Families who include chiropractic care before and after a tongue tie release support more comfortable, efficient feeding and overall function.

If your little one is struggling with feeding or has a known tongue tie, it may be helpful to look at how their whole body is functioning. Supporting baby’s ability to move, feed, and coordinate comfortably is just as important as addressing the structure itself.

For women who’ve had a previous C-section, the next pregnancy comes with an important decision: attempt a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) or schedule another surgical birth.

A 2026 peer-reviewed case series followed four women with prior cesareans who received chiropractic care during pregnancy using the Webster Technique. All four went on to have successful VBACs, and no adverse events were reported. One birth even occurred at home after a short labor.

It’s important to note that this was a small observational case series, so it doesn’t prove chiropractic care leads to successful VBACs. VBAC success rates are already around 60–80% for appropriately selected candidates, but the study highlights something many providers observe clinically: when the pelvis, spine, and surrounding tissues are functioning well, the body is better supported during pregnancy and birth.

Prenatal chiropractic care focuses on supporting:
• pelvic and spinal mobility
• reducing back and pelvic discomfort
• nervous system regulation
• balanced movement and space for baby

For families hoping for a VBAC, chiropractic care is one piece of a supportive birth team alongside midwives, doulas, and OBs.

Every pregnancy and birth is unique, but helping the body adapt well during pregnancy is always worthwhile.

When should my baby get checked by a chiropractor?

As soon as possible.

Pediatric chiropractic care is very different from adult chiropractic. There’s no popping, twisting, or pulling. The pressure used is about the same as checking the ripeness of a tomato.

Your baby’s first year of life is the most neurologically active period they will ever experience. Their brain is forming over 1 million neural connections every second 🤯 During this time, they are learning how to exist outside the womb where every sensation and experience is brand new.

Now add in the fact that birth is physically demanding for babies, even the “easy” deliveries. However your baby made their way earthside, their body experienced significant pressure and force along the way. Those forces can create tension and imbalance in the body and nervous system.

This can show up as:
• Colic
• Difficulty latching or feeding
• Head turn preference
• Reflux
• Sleep struggles
• Delays in rolling, sitting, or crawling

Pediatric chiropractors are specifically trained to gently release tension and support healthy nervous system function so babies can grow, develop, and adapt the way they were designed to.

The earlier you support your baby’s nervous system, the stronger their foundation for lifelong health.
