We celebrated the start of Summer with the Family Fun Day yesterday. The EIO Band entertained while we enjoyed being outside and visiting with loved ones. The bouncy house and water slide were a big hit and so was Stephanie Lewis and her face painting booth. Lexi and the dietary staff prepared tasty carnival snacks and drinks. Thank you to all the families and friends that come to celebrate and spend the afternoon with us. An especially big thank you to staff for helping us pull this off. We needed every single person working to get people brought outside, to get them food and a drink and keep them comfortable on a breezy day. We love it when families get to see their loved ones having a good time.

Memorial Day means it’s time to start planting the courtyard. We took a few residents to pick out flowers then started fertilizing and working the dirt. We still have to find some rose bushes and tomato plants but we are off to a good start. We also have a mystery to solve. For the first time we have a rock painted like a cat. No clue where it came from.

A short while back, Jeff challenged dietary to step up and elevate the desserts. That went so well that Lexi decided to do the same with the new menu. The food has always been good and now it’s even better. Feel free to come in and decide for yourself. We love it when families get to see how well their loved ones are being taken care of.

The Pilot Butte School Literacy Club brought us the flowers to make table settings for the dining room. Our residents joined them in putting them together and displaying them for all to enjoy. Plus, they smell so good. Summer is in the air. Thank you for thinking about us. Our residents love when the younger generation spends time with us.
