๐Ÿฉ Happy National Donut Day!
Sometimes healing looks less like doing more and more like allowing yourself to enjoy a simple moment.
Whether it's sharing a donut with a friend, laughing with family, or taking a break from the constant pressure to be productive, those small moments of connection matter.

Research shows that sharing meals and food with others can strengthen relationships, increase feelings of belonging, and support overall well-being.

Today, enjoy the donut. Share it if you'd like. Call a friend. Sit with someone you love. Let yourself experience a moment of sweetness without guilt.
Because mental wellness isn't just about managing stressโ€”it's also about making room for joy.
Life is sweeter when we don't walk it alone.
Eat Well. Move Well. Live Well. Perform Well.

๐Ÿฉ Happy National Donut Day!

And yes... your Registered Dietitian says you can enjoy the donut.

Research consistently shows that restricting foods often increases cravings and can make those foods feel even more powerful. In contrast, giving yourself permission to enjoy foods you love can lead to greater satisfaction and a healthier relationship with eating.

If a donut sounds good today, enjoy it. Slow down. Notice the flavors. Savor the experience. Leave the guilt out of it.
Health isn't built by one food, one meal, or one dayโ€”it's shaped by overall patterns and habits over time.

Eat Well. Move Well. Live Well. Perform Well.

๐ŸŽ‰ Congratulations to Jason! He has received his Provisional Professional Counselor (PPC) license and is now welcoming new clients!

Jason works with adults navigating some of life's most difficult terrain โ€” trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, anger, shame, addiction and recovery, stress, self-worth, and questions of meaning, purpose, and faith. He has a special heart for those who spend their lives showing up strong for everyone else: first responders, helping professionals, and caregivers. He brings not only clinical training but a career's worth of lived experience in service โ€” and he gets it in a way that's hard to teach.

His approach is collaborative, compassionate, and trauma-informed. In plain language, he helps people slow down, understand the patterns keeping them stuck, relate differently to painful thoughts and emotions, and practice new ways of responding that reflect who they want to be and what matters most to them.

Jason is currently offering appointments Mondayโ€“Thursday afternoon and evenings.

Exercise is Medicine

More than 2,000 years ago, Hippocrates is credited with saying, โ€œLet food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.โ€ He also recognized something equally important: โ€œEating alone will not keep a man well; he must also take exercise.โ€

Today, science continues to support what he observed centuries ago.
No drug, supplement, or other health behavior can fully replicate the wide-ranging effects that regular physical activity has on the body. Exercise supports cardiovascular health, improves mood, strengthens muscles and bones, helps regulate blood sugar, enhances sleep, and promotes overall well-being.

Consistent movement is one of the most powerful ways to support the body's natural processes and functions. And yet we know that every "body" is different and the right approach should be individualized. Some individuals benefit from additional support, including counseling, prescription medications, nutritional interventions, or supplements based on their unique needs and circumstances.

Health is rarely about one thing. It's about building a foundation of habits and supports that work together.

Move your body. Nourish yourself well. Ask for help when you need it. All of these can be part of the path to better health.

Which part of the path are you working on now? Let us help you. Call to schedule with our experienced clinicians. 307-630-3466

Our most popular conversations this month centered around two powerful themes that are deeply connected:

Boundaries are Bridges โ€” We explored what it really means to be kind (not just nice), why self-care isn't selfish, the transformative power of saying No, and how our impulse to control others is often the very thing blocking our own peace.

Resentment & Emotional Dysregulation โ€” When we abandon our boundaries, resentment quietly takes root. We unpacked the behaviors and challenges that show up when our emotions go unregulated.

When we honor ourselves, we show up better for everyone around us.

Mental health doesn't get solved in a month โ€” it's a lifelong practice. Allow our therapist to help you in your journey: 307-630-3466

Your meal schedule might affect more than your energy levels ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ๐Ÿง

A new study found that irregular eating patterns were linked to higher symptoms of depression โ€” with breakfast skipping showing particularly strong effects.

Researchers say consistent meal timing + dietary variety may play an important role in supporting mental health.

Sometimes wellness starts with the basics: regular meals, sleep, and routine. Our Registered Dietitian and Counselors are here to help. Call us today to schedule appointments with our health professionals and start building habits that support your mental wellness.

Today we pause to remember and honor those who gave their lives in service to our country.

Memorial Day can hold many emotions โ€” gratitude, grief, pride, sadness, reflection. For some, itโ€™s personal. For others, itโ€™s a quiet awareness of sacrifice.

However this day meets you, itโ€™s okay to feel what you feel.

If this holiday brings up memories, loss, or heavy emotions, you donโ€™t have to carry that alone. Support is here when youโ€™re ready.

Wishing you a meaningful and gentle Memorial Day.
