1. To Protect You from Metal Hazards
The MRI uses a very powerful magnet. Certain implants, pacemakers, aneurysm clips, metal fragments, or other devices can move, heat up, or malfunction during the scan.
2. To Make Sure Your Medical Implants Are MRI Safe
Many joint replacements, stents, surgical clips, and implanted devices are MRI-compatible—but not all. We verify your implant information before proceeding.
3. To Keep You Safe if Contrast Is Needed
If your exam requires MRI contrast, we'll ask about allergies, kidney disease, and previous reactions to help determine if contrast is appropriate for you.
