When a kid spikes a fever, our instinct is to fix it, measure it, control it. But watch what actually helps: not more information, a calm presence.
Kids can't self-regulate under stress. Their nervous systems are still developing, so they borrow calm from us. When we slow down and stay close, their body follows. Breathing slows. They rest deeper. Healing has room to happen.
This goes beyond fever season. The stress patterns kids carry early on — colic, poor sleep, a nervous system that never quite settles — don't just disappear. They often show up later as sensory struggles, meltdowns, or trouble with focus and mood. The nervous system remembers.
It's why we take a structural, nervous-system-first approach with the kids we see here at Precision Chiropractic. A more regulated nervous system may support how your child handles stress, sleep, and growth. Individual results vary, and every child's story is different — but the story matters.
If this pattern sounds familiar for your child, we'd love to talk it through with you.
