This allows one to make interventions and lifestyle adjustments which are necessary to optimize the conditions for normal function. Using this unique approach, Dr. Murphy is able to help to accelerate and/or maintain ones journey to good health and well being. Dr. Murphy graduated high school locally in 1991, received his undergraduate degree from East Carolina University in 1997, and his Doctorate from Life University College of Chiropractic in 2001. Although certified in several chiropractic methods, he primarily utilizes Diversified technique. He concentrates his efforts on treating and educating his clients on the importance of health and wellness.

The spacing between chiropractic visits is not arbitrary. When appointments are timed to coincide with when the body is ready to build on the last session, rather than after it has reverted, each visit produces more lasting change. Patients who maintain a consistent schedule often find they need fewer corrective visits over time. The goal of care has always been to need it less, and consistency is how you get there.

The atlas is the topmost vertebra in the spine, and it sits at the base of the skull supporting the full weight of the head. Even a small degree of misalignment here can affect the way the brainstem functions and how nerve signals travel through the rest of the body. It is one of the smallest bones in the spine and one of the most influential. Ask us about it at your next visit!

Recreational athletes often assume they should push through minor aches, treating them as a normal part of training. In many cases, those recurring twinges or stiffness after a workout are signals that something in the spine or pelvis is not moving as efficiently as it should be. Addressing those patterns early tends to support better performance and reduces the likelihood of a more significant issue developing over time. Let us take a look at what your body might be telling you. Call us today!

Most people know the brain coordinates movement, but fewer know that the cerebellum, which accounts for roughly 10 percent of brain volume, processes more than half of all the brain's neurons and depends heavily on accurate input from the spine and joints. When that input is disrupted by spinal restriction, coordination and balance can be affected in ways that are not always obvious until they are corrected. This is one of the reasons chiropractic care sometimes produces improvements that seem to go well beyond the back.

The height of your car headrest has a direct effect on how your neck handles force during even minor stops and collisions. When it sits too low, typically directly behind the back of the head, the neck is far more vulnerable to strain in the event of a rear impact. Most headrests are adjustable, and repositioning takes about ten seconds. It is one of the simplest injury-prevention habits most people have never thought about.

Waking up tired—even after a full night's sleep? Your body might not be fully relaxing overnight.

Tension through the neck, shoulders, or lower back can make it harder to get comfortable and stay asleep. Gentle chiropractic care focuses on supporting healthy movement and alignment, which may help your body unwind more easily at night.

If you're waking up stiff, sore, or unrested, book a visit with our team. Let's help you sleep well and live better.

Most people think of chiropractic care as something you turn to when your back hurts, but research continues to show connections between spinal health and things like immune response, digestion, and sleep quality. The spine houses the spinal cord, which is the main communication highway between your brain and every system in your body. Keeping it moving well is one of the most foundational things you can do for your overall health.
