In tribute to the lives lost, the heroes who answered the call and those forever changed by September 11. We will NEVER forget. 🇺🇸

09/11/2026

Twenty-five years ago today, our country was forever changed. On this solemn anniversary of September 11, we pause to honor, remember, and reflect on the many innocent lives lost, the courageous first responders who ran toward danger, and the enduring resilience of our community.

For so many across Long Island, the impact of that day remains deeply personal. We carry the memories of our neighbors, friends, and loved ones in our hearts. Today, we stand together in prayer, unity, and solemn remembrance.

Once a Mercy NICU baby... always part of the Mercy family💙💕 This NICU Awareness Month, we’re celebrating some very special members of our Mercy family: former NICU babies who remind us just how far our tiniest patients can go. Catholic Health’s Mercy Hospital has been delivering babies since the 1940s, so chances are you know a Mercy baby, love a Mercy baby, or maybe you are one! Today, Mercy’s Level III NICU provides advanced, specialized care for premature and critically ill newborns, supporting babies and their families through some of their most important first days. And with Labor Day weekend here, we can’t think of a more fitting time to celebrate a different kind of labor of love, one that has been part of Mercy for generations.

Take a look at some of our former Mercy NICU babies, forever part of the Mercy family. Were you or someone you love born at Mercy? Tell us in the comments or better yet share your baby pictures!

September is a chance to reset.

As summer winds down and routines pick back up, it’s a good time to check in with yourself, too. Prioritize your mental well-being, set healthy boundaries, reconnect with the people who matter and give yourself permission to slow down when you need it.

A new month doesn’t mean you have to reinvent yourself. Sometimes a reset simply means making a little more room for what helps you feel your best.

This September, make your mental health part of the routine.

Today, on International Overdose Awareness Day, we remember the lives lost to overdose, stand beside the families and loved ones who carry that loss, and offer hope to those living with substance use disorders. Addiction can affect anyone, and no one should have to face it alone. Whether you are struggling yourself, worried about someone you love, or simply do not know where to turn, help is available. At Mercy Hospital, support is available 24/7. Call our Crisis Line at (516) 705-2248. Today, and every day, let’s replace stigma with understanding, judgment with compassion, and silence with conversation. Recovery is possible, and reaching out can be the first step toward hope.
