As you know, we care for many newborns and young children, but we also have the privilege of watching our patients grow from infancy through adolescence. That’s why some of our exam rooms are thoughtfully designed with older children and teens in mind.

A visit to the doctor can feel stressful at any age, so our goal is to make every appointment as comfortable and welcoming as possible by creating calming, relaxing spaces for all of our patients

My vision for Hirsch Pediatrics is to offer families an outstanding level of pediatric care in a small, family-centered, efficient, and relaxed environment. Hirsch Pediatrics was originally designed to redefine virtually every aspect of modern pediatrics including the doctor/patient relationship, the office environment, patient/parent access to medical information, and more.

Today, I’m proud to announce that, for the fourth consecutive year, Hirsch Pediatrics has earned 1st place among more than 300 pediatric practices in multiple clinical quality care measures through PCC, our electronic medical record and practice management system.

This recognition reflects our team’s ongoing commitment to providing exceptional, evidence-based care and continually improving the experience we offer our patients and families.

We are incredibly grateful for this honor and look forward to continuing to deliver the highest quality pediatric care to our community.

As we spend the last weeks by the pool and at the ocean, we have a few important details about sunscreen!

Can I use sunscreen on my baby?
Yes! Once your baby is 6 months or older, it’s time to add sunscreen to your sun safety routine.

We recommend choosing a mineral sunscreen made with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. These ingredients sit on top of the skin to help protect against harmful UV rays and are generally preferred for children.

Reapply sunscreen every 2 hours, and more often after swimming or sweating.

Need help choosing one? We recommend checking the Environmental Working Group’s annual guide to find highly rated sunscreens for babies and kids!

Dr. Olexa has officially returned from maternity leave and is back in the office! We’re so excited to welcome her back and can’t wait to watch baby Bradley grow.

Dr. Hirsch, Dr. Olexa, and Dr. Kissiova had a wonderful time attending the Future of Pediatrics Conference in Bethesda, Maryland! 💙 This annual conference, hosted by Children’s National Children's National brought together pediatric professionals from across the region to learn, collaborate, and explore the latest advances in pediatric care.

One of the best parts of practicing pediatrics is that there’s always something new to learn. From the latest research and clinical updates to thoughtful conversations with colleagues,
the conference was filled with valuable insights and inspiration.

We’re committed to lifelong learning so we can continue providing the highest quality, evidence-based care for the children and families we serve. We’re grateful for the
opportunity to learn, grow, and bring new ideas back to our practice.
