The advice most people in their 20s never hear before their first filler appointment.

Filler isn’t permanent, but the habits you set now shape what your face will look like at 42. What patients
most commonly regret in this category isn’t starting, it’s starting too big.

A syringe of filler is often plenty to start. Subtle, gradual improvement almost always looks
better than a single dramatic before-and-after.

And the question worth asking yourself first: is this something I’m doing for me, or because everyone in my
feed is doing it? Both are valid answers. Knowing which one is yours is worth the pause.

The most expensive plastic surgery isn’t the one you were quoted.

It’s the one you paid to have fixed.

Revision surgery, a procedure to fix a previous procedure, often costs more than the original.

It’s more complex, harder to plan, and doesn’t always fully correct the issue.

And most revisions are preventable, with the right first consultation.

The math patients don’t do: a $12,000 procedure that needs a $20,000 revision costs more than a $16,000 procedure that didn’t.

Comparing consultations by price alone often points to the cheaper option, but the total cost is what matters.

Before you book anything, ask any surgeon you consult with:

❗️ How often do you perform revisions of this procedure done elsewhere?
❗️How often do you perform revisions on your own patients?
❗️ What does your complication rate look like?

A good surgeon answers directly.

The one thing Ozempic can’t do for your stomach: tighten loose skin.

The new class of weight loss medications is producing dramatic results but rapid weight loss leaves a
problem the medication itself can’t solve. Loose skin. Separated abdominal muscles. A contour that no
amount of continued dieting or exercise will change.

This is anatomical, not metabolic. And it’s what a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) is designed to address —
removing the excess skin, tightening the underlying muscle, and restoring the shape the weight loss revealed
but couldn’t complete.

For the right candidate weight stabilized, generally healthy, realistic about recovery — this is the
procedure that finishes the transformation.

“Can I just get a facelift and skip the neck part?”

We hear this in almost every facelift consultation.
The instinct is understandable... less surgery, less cost, less recovery.

But the face and neck age together, and addressing one without the other usually creates a
mismatch that shows.

The tissue of the lower face continues into the neck as a single anatomical plane.
When one gets refreshed and the other doesn’t, the result reads as incomplete.

In some cases patients ask about a second procedure a few months later, which means two recoveries where one would have covered both.

There are patients whose neck has held up well enough that a facelift alone is the right call.
But it’s the exception, not the rule.
And there are patients whose neck concerns outpace their face, for whom a neck lift alone is the right answer.

The point is a proper examination, not an assumption.

Breast reduction is one of the most under-discussed procedures in plastic surgery and one of the most transformative for the right patient.

Chronic neck and back pain. Shoulder grooves from bra straps. Skin irritation. Difficulty exercising or finding clothes that fit. Sleep disruption. These are the symptoms patients live with, often for years, before they consider surgery, because they’ve been told it’s a “cosmetic” concern.

It isn’t, for a lot of patients. Insurance often covers breast reduction as a functional procedure. And the feedback we hear from patients afterward isn’t about how they look, it’s about the pain that’s gone.

If you’ve been living with this, the consultation is free and there’s no obligation.

If you are thinking about having a breast augmentation - make sure you save this for later - because these are the questions you are going to want to ask your surgeon!

The number that looks natural on one body will look wrong on another. What actually determines a natural-looking breast augmentation is your chest wall width, your existing breast tissue, your skin envelope, and your lifestyle — in that order. The implant size falls out of those four. It’s the output, not the input.

Here’s what a good breast augmentation consult should include:
✔️ Actual measurements of your chest wall and breast base.
✔️ Sizer testing so you can see proportions on your own body.
✔️ A conversation about your lifestyle, not just aesthetic goals.
✔️ And a clear discussion of what surgery will and won’t change.

If a surgeon quotes you a CC number without doing any of that, that’s information too.

Save this carousel. Bring it to your consultation, with us or with any surgeon.

That gap is the part nobody explains....
The Morpheus8 before-and-afters that go viral are almost always month three, not week one.

Morpheus8 works by triggering your own collagen, and collagen takes time to build, which is why it is done as a short series, usually three sessions, with results that keep improving for months afterward.

Downtime is mild, a day or two of redness like a light sunburn. It is not only a face treatment either.

The same device tightens the neck, abdomen, and knees, and it pairs well with Botox or filler to keep skin quality up between visits.

Morpheus8 skin tightening is offered by Dr. Brent Faulkner, a board-certified plastic surgeon at Faulkner Plastic Surgery in North Bethesda, Maryland, serving Bethesda, Rockville, and Montgomery County.

Curious whether you are at the right stage for it? Call (240) 880-2349 or use the link in our bio to book.
