A few self-advocates are opening up about their autism diagnoses, experiences with bullying, and what it means to redefine possible.

These stories aren’t always easy to tell—but they matter. Because talking about autism and mental health shouldn’t be limited to awareness months or headlines. Autistic people deserve understanding, support, and inclusion all year long.

Breastfeeding is one of the healthiest things you can do for your baby. But falling asleep while feeding is one of the most dangerous.

To stay awake & ensure your baby sleeps safely: Set an alarm every time you breastfeed. ⏰

🚫 There’s no one right portion size. Your child knows how full or empty they feel. They are the only one.

🍓 If you see them eating a little food, you might be worried....until you realize they were just constipated and after they cleared out, they went back to eating the amount they usually eat.

🍓 Or, they may eat tons and tons of a food for a while, and it’s because they were active and growing, or just loved the food.

🍓 It is helpful to think of “portion sizes” as just a starting amount to put on their plate. If you realize they don’t usually eat that much, then serve them less. If you realize they eat more than that, then serve them more. In general, it’s good to let toddlers choose how much to eat, so start with small servings so that you don’t waste food!

Diagnosed with autism at age two, our Champion of Change, Tyler is no stranger to smiling in the face of adversity and proving doubters wrong. The 23-year-old says his biggest challenge with autism has been learning how to clearly communicate with others and understanding the various social situations that can arise in everyday life. But with a strong support system around him, including his mom, Tonya, Tyler is doing more than just succeeding, he has a job and is thriving!

With more and more cases of measles in the news, parents may be wondering if their baby or toddler can get the first or second dose of the MMR vaccine early. Babies ages 6 through 11 months old can receive the first MMR dose early and they should if traveling internationally or they live in an area with an outbreak. For older children, the second dose of the MMR vaccine is recommended at school entry around age 4 through 6, but it can be administered early if it has been at least 28 days since the first dose. Talk to your child’s pediatrician with questions about your family’s situation. They can help you decide if your child should be vaccinated early.
