Ms. Opal Faye Nelson Hayes, age 86, of Rockwood, TN passed away on Monday, August 2, 2026 with her family by her side. She was born on February 23 1940 in Crossville, TN. Her father was Carl Nelson and her mother was Lela Pearl Morgan Nelson. She worked and retired from Alba Health Hosier Mill in Rockwood, TN. Opal loved going to the beach, crossword puzzles, shopping, and of course her sweets! She is preceded in death by her parents; Husband: Leonard Eugene Hayes; brothers: Bobby Nelson, Harold Nelson, and Mikey Nelson; sisters: Bonnie Brady, Connie Thompson, and Paulette Caruthers; granddaughter: Kayla Hayes; and son: Eugene Hayes. David Scott Kirkland, age 53 of Rockwood, passed away on Friday, July 31st, 2026. He was born on October 5th, 1972. He worked as a welder here locally in Harriman. He was also an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish, hunt, and go camping. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He had been attending Valley View Baptist Church in Harriman where he gave his heart to the Lord and was saved. Sandra Tate Nelson passed away unexpectedly on July 31, 2026, leaving behind a family and special friends who loved her deeply.

Sandra was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Bobby Nelson; her son, Chip Nelson; her daughter, Angela M. Nelson; her sister, Barbara Jones; her brother, Gary Tate; and her parents, Gene and Pauline Tate.

She is survived by her devoted son, Bill Nelson, and daughter-in-law, Sarah Nelson of Kingston; her granddaughter, Angela N. Nelson, of Harriman; her grandson, Noah Nelson, of Kingston, her cherished great-granddaughter, Victoria Turnington, and precious great-grandson, Gideon Howard, both of Harriman; her brother, Jerry Tate, of Harriman, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and special friends who will forever treasure her memory.

Sandra's greatest joy in life was her family. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and the love she had for her son was unwavering. She had an especially special relationship with Victoria. She had a caring heart, a warm spirit, and a love that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Her passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who loved her. To say she will be missed is truly an understatement.

Sandra's love, strength, and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.

Jeannie Lavelle Wright, 65, entered the pearly gates of Heaven and into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, July 26, 2026.

Born on October 4, 1960, in Salinas, California, Jeannie was the beloved daughter of James Thomas Wright and Gloria Jean Wright, who preceded her in death.

Jeannie's greatest joy in life was her faith in Jesus Christ. She lived with a generous heart, always offering kindness, encouragement, and compassion to everyone she met. She believed in lifting others up, speaking with love, and sharing God's grace. Her joyful spirit, beautiful blue eyes, vibrant personality, and unforgettable sayings will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved her.

She is lovingly survived by her children, Tashia (Brian), Danielle (Wilson), Levi (Jessica), Vida (Darius), Jim, and Daniel; her cherished grandchildren, Joshua Shane, Henslie, Lavinia, Arianna, and Mia; her brother, James Wright; her sisters, Vida and Carrie; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Though her family grieves her passing, they rejoice in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ and find comfort knowing she is now at peace in His presence.

A celebration of life service will begin at 1:00 pm ET from the chapel of Evans Mortuary with Rev. Willie Gallaher officiating. Graveside and interment service will follow in the Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood, TN, at 2:00 pm ET.

Family and friends are invited to attend. In honor of Jeannie's joyful spirit, guests are welcome to wear colors and comfortable attire.

Howard Edward (Eddie) Evans, age 69, transitioned to a pain-free life on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, in Athens, AL.

Eddie is survived by his son, Jacob (Megan); grandsons, Eli and Ezra; his mother, Virginia Winters Evans; siblings, Carol Ann, Barry (Robin), and Carla Sue (Kevin); and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Howard Evans.

A graduate of Rockwood High School, Class of 1975, Eddie devoted more than 40 years of his career to TVA — and when the workday was done, there was no question where you'd find him. The golf course was his happy place, and he was rarely far from it. Those who knew Eddie knew him as the life of every room he walked into, and his warmth, humor, and spirit left a mark on everyone lucky enough to share his company.

In keeping with the way he lived, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Butchy was a huge wrestling fan and you could always find him watching it. He loved his family dearly and they were the most important thing to him in his life. Mary Nagle Walker McFarland, of Rockwood, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on July 29, 2026, with family by her side. Mary was born on September 21, 1948, to parents Edward and Mert Nagle.

Mary was proceeded in death by the love of her life, Bill McFarland; her much loved son, Chad Walker; her great-grandson, Seaven Jo Parent-Walker; her parents, Edward and Mert Nagle; her brother, Elmer Nagle; two special cousins, Phillip Williams and Jo Haun; and daughter-in-law, Stacy Walker.
