🏆 Bowl of Hygeia: Kristin Waters, PharmD, BCPS, BCPP

Congratulations to Kristin Waters, PharmD, BCPS, BCPP, this year's Bowl of Hygeia recipient! Kristin is an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of C***ecticut School of Pharmacy and a board-certified psychiatric pharmacist. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy in 2015, followed by a PGY-1 residency at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse, NY, and a PGY-2 in psychiatric pharmacy at Yale New Haven Hospital.

Congratulations, Kristin — thank you for your dedication to the profession and to patient care! 👏

Today is National Fentanyl Prevention & Awareness Day. Fentanyl is up to 100 times more potent than morphine, and it's increasingly found in counterfeit pills and other substances — often without the user's knowledge. C***ecticut pharmacists are on the front lines of prevention, offering naloxone access, fentanyl test strips, and confidential guidance to patients and families.

If you or someone you love may be at risk, your pharmacist is a resource — no judgment, just help. Naloxone is available at pharmacies across C***ecticut without a prescription.
