Across the country, Home Instead teams are showing up with purpose at Walk to End Alzheimer’s events—walking in honor of loved ones, supporting families and raising critical funds for the fight to end Alzheimer’s and all other dementia. 💜

We are proud to partner with the ’sAssociation as a Walk to End Alzheimer’s Gold National Team. Together, Home Instead has raised more than $5.7 million over the past 18 years, including $258,000 last year alone, to advance Alzheimer’s care, support and research.

This year, we are well on our way to reaching our goal—and every donation and every step makes a meaningful difference. Thank you to every Care Pro, office team member, client, family member and community partner who walks, fundraises and helps move this mission forward.

When searching for a senior living community, touring more than one place can make all the difference.

Look beyond the amenities and notice the everyday interactions: Do team members know residents by name? Do they speak directly to the person who may live there? Does the community feel warm, personal and welcoming?

In this Caregiver Chats clip, Dr. Lakelyn and Nicole Will share why comparing communities can help families find the right fit for their loved one.

One tour rarely tells the whole story.

When you’re exploring senior living options for someone you love, visit more than one community—and pay attention to the details that reveal how people are truly cared for.

Are residents greeted by name? Are conversations warm and personal? Does the team speak directly to the older adult, not just their family?

Sometimes the clearest answer comes from comparing how each place feels.

Touring senior living communities for a loved one? Look beyond the scheduled visit.

In this clip from Caregiver Chats, Nicole Will shares why it can be helpful to stop by at a different time—like an evening or weekend—and notice the everyday experience. Are residents interacting naturally? Do team members seem calm, attentive and familiar with the people they support?

The right community is about more than the building. It’s about finding a place where your loved one can feel connected, valued and at home.

Teamwork and proper mechanics go hand in hand! This week our caregivers put in fantastic work practicing safe gait belt transfers. Slipping on simulation glasses during our hands-on exercises gave everyone a powerful, eye-opening glimpse of what it truly feels like to navigate movement with impaired vision, helping us approach every transfer with even deeper empathy and care.🌻

Taking the time to master these vital techniques ensures our clients feel secure, respected, and supported. So proud of our team's ongoing commitment to excellence and safety! 💚📚

A scheduled tour can show you the highlights. An unscheduled visit can show you everyday life.

When you’re considering a senior living community for someone you love, Nicole Will suggests stopping by at a different time—an evening or weekend—and paying attention to what you see.

Are residents connecting? Does the team seem calm and engaged? Do people know one another by name?

It’s not just about finding a place to live. It’s about finding a place where your loved one can feel known, connected and at home.

When families begin exploring senior living, it’s easy to focus on the building first: the amenities, the dining room, the activity calendar.

But as Nicole Will () reminds us, the better place to begin is with the person.

What brings your loved one joy? Where do they find purpose? What kind of connection will help them feel known and at home?

In this episode of Caregiver Chats, Dr. Lakelyn and Nicole share a more person-centered way to approach one of caregiving’s biggest decisions.

Big round of applause for this week’s amazing caregiver class! Between navigating sensory-loss exercises (folding shirts with vision-altering glasses and earplugs!) and locking down safe ambulation skills, our team showed up ready to learn. Building true empathy and safety skills is at the core of what we do every day.

Perspective is everything. 💡

This week in training, our caregivers stepped into our clients' shoes—literally! Using shaded lenses and restrictive gloves, they experienced what simple daily tasks feel like when living with vision loss or limited dexterity.

This exercise reinforced the importance of slowing down, practicing deep patience, and providing compassionate care tailored to each individual's needs. Thank you to our team for always leading with heart! I 💜✨
