Please be careful when allowing children to play with non-powder toy guns (NPTGs) including foam darts and paintball guns. The amount of stories I've seen by providers shared online is actually shocking. This is for both parents and children alike. 78% of patients in this retrospective study were male. Mean age was 16.2 years old. The most concerning point the study makes is that final acuity was worse than 20/200 in 6% of injuries. That's the big E! Please use eye protection and proper supervision when using these toy guns.

URGENT NOTE: The FDA has updated its list of over the counter, generic, artificial tears that patients may have received from pharmacies as generic alternative. No adverse side effects have been noted as of today, however a positive bacterial test was found. Patients are advised to properly discard the medications as linked in the memo.
