For Ali Salgado, ( NCPRSS | Chaplain | Group Facilitator), this wasn’t just another opportunity to share his story. This one hit close to home.

“I know what it’s like to be an inmate. I know what it’s like to feel trapped—not only behind bars, but by addiction and the lifestyle that came with it. There was a time when I couldn’t imagine my life looking any different.

But God stepped in.

Through my relationship with God and the support of people who believe in me, I’ve been able to build a new life and walk in long-term recovery. But the biggest transformation wasn’t simply getting out or changing my
circumstances. In Christ, I found a new identity. My past will always be part of my story, but it no longer gets to tell me who I am. Today, I know I’m a child of God, walking in freedom and purpose.”

There’s something powerful about going back to a place that reminds you of where you’ve been, not as the person you once were, but as living proof of what God can do.

Sometimes the greatest purpose in sharing where you’ve been is helping someone else believe they don’t have to stay where they are.

Thank you to De’ungela Fields and the staff at Central Arkansas Correction Center - AR DOC for the invitation and for creating space for hope and second chances.

A couple of weekends ago we got to witness something beautiful in Ezequiel’s journey.

For years, he lived believing he was cursed. But after a season of the Lord pursuing his heart, he surrendered his life to Jesus.

Galatians 3:13–14 reminds us that Christ took the curse upon Himself so that through faith we could receive the blessing and promise of God.

Here we see the importance of caring for the whole person in recovery. Physical health matters. Mental and emotional health matter. Relationships and community matter. And our spiritual lives matter too.

Sometimes there are places in the heart that a program, a meeting, or a resource simply cannot reach. We believe that’s where Jesus meets us.

Ezequiel has a road ahead of him, but he’s stepping into it with a new hope, a new identity, and a growing faith.

Recovery is a journey toward wholeness—and for us, Jesus is at the center of it.

Dalton Henson story is a reminder that losing everything does not mean your story is over.

In his recovery, Dalton has experienced the loss of his family, home, and job. But instead of allowing those losses to define his future, he has continued pressing forward.

He recently graduated from Acceptance Treatment NWA, has found employment, has a working vehicle, regained his driver’s license, and is continuing to rebuild his life one step at a time.

What stands out most to us is not just what Dalton has regained, but the way he has chosen to keep going through the struggles. We’ve watched him press into his recovery, his growth, and the hard work of becoming the man he wants to be.

His hope is for a second chance and, one day, restoration with his family.

Recovery is not always a straight road. Sometimes it looks like getting back up, taking the next right step, and refusing to quit.

Dalton, we see your growth, we admire your perseverance, and we’re grateful to walk alongside you as your story continues.
