In a world that tells men to stay silent, suppress their emotions, and carry every burden alone, Jesus modeled something different.
In His darkest moment in Gethsemane, He didn’t isolate Himself. He invited Peter, James, and John to be with Him and honestly shared that His soul was “overwhelmed with sorrow” (Matthew 26:36–38). The strongest man who ever lived showed that vulnerability and dependence on God and others are not signs of weakness—they are marks of wisdom and courage.
Many men believe asking for help means they’ve failed. In reality, isolation often deepens anxiety, depression, addiction, and hopelessness, while healthy relationships and supportive community promote healing and resilience.
This Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, reject the lie that you have to face life alone. Open up. Reach out. Pray. Find brothers who will encourage you, challenge you, and walk with you.
You don’t have to carry it all by yourself.
