A Special Gift, A Lasting Legacy 🇺🇸
A recent Facebook post led to a truly touching moment at Harborview Rome. Former rehabilitation patient Janet Hilgerson returned to gift Mr. James Davis her late husband Bob's military flight jacket.
Bob served as a U.S. Army pilot in Vietnam, where his aircraft was shot down when he was just 19, resulting in the loss of both legs. After reading about Mr. Davis's service as a search-and-rescue helicopter crew chief, Janet knew he was the perfect person to cherish Bob's jacket.
The two shared stories, memories, and tears in a moment that touched everyone watching.
