Flurona refers to when one person has both respiratory infections at the same time — which is a possibility as cases of the highly contagious omicron variant of the coronavirus surge this winter across the world.
The term came after two young pregnant women tested positive for both the coronavirus and influenza in Israel.
The coronavirus and influenza are both respiratory infections, which can cause similar symptoms such as fever, coughing, fatigue, runny nose, sore throat and diarrhea, along with muscle and body aches.
If you're feeling ill, it's best to get tested to ensure you are not spreading the virus and protecting those around you.
Our one-swab PCR test detects RSV, Flu A, Flu B and COVID. Stop in during open hours or call 734-941-0895.
