Here is some information from Dr. Ashley Jarrett regarding how and why we set up treatment plans.
Chiropractic care is much like physical therapy or going to the gym, you wouldn't expect one workout to make you strong, and one adjustment usually isn't enough to correct movement patterns that developed over months or even years. It usually takes several visits to feel better because the body doesn't change instantly. When a joint isn't moving properly the surrounding muscles tighten to protect the area. A single adjustment can improve movement, but those muscles don't reset right away, they need time and repetition to adapt.
There is also a healing process involved. Inflamed tissues need time to calm down, and the nervous system needs repeated input to "learn" a healthier movement pattern. Early treatments often focus on reducing pain and restoring motion, while later visits help stabilize those improvements so the issue doesn't return.
So as you can see, under-treating can be just as harmful as over-treating. Our goal is never to keep you coming in forever. Instead, we recommend care based on your condition, your progress, and your personal goals. We believe in ethical treatment plans, education, and creating individualized care plans based on what is best for YOU!
