The hyoid bone sits in the front of your throat right above the larynx. Its purpose it to anchor the tongue, larynx, and pharynx. This helps facilitate speech, swallowing, and airway maintenance! It does not touch or work with any other bones. You can maybe even feel yours. It is the bump below your jaw and above your Adam’s apple.
