The soul faculty of the Lungs is Openness, and when challenged it generates positive sorrow or grief: the ability to accept and let go.
Triggers for grief are death, loss, and endings of any kind.
The purpose of grief is to completely release and let go of your soul into the river of Life. Grief enables the resolution/completion of that which is mourned and the renewal of the soul so you can live more fully.
Pathogenic grief causes distressed feelings by drowning sorrow and grief by avoidance and pretense (keeping busy) or by distraction (escapism, fantasy, addictions.)
The life lesson of Openness/Grief is to learn how to renew yourself and live more fully by accepting, resolving, and letting go of loss and endings.
Lung issues may arise when grief is not allowed and released.
