✨ Meet Doreen! ✨
Doreen’s life has been filled with music, hard work, faith, family, and a whole lot of activity!
At just 9 years old, Doreen began singing with her sisters. Their first song was “Precious Jewel,” and the trio eventually became known as the “Anderson Girls.” 🎶
Doreen has always been a hard worker. At age 9, she worked as a duster at a dime store. At 14, she worked at Midway Hospital delivering food trays to patients’ rooms, earning $1.15 an hour plus a free meal. After a year at Augsburg, she worked for Minnesota Game and Fish, followed by two years with Minnesota State Parks, making sure the gift stores were stocked.
Later, as an LPN, Doreen worked the overnight shift in the delivery room from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. She also fed the babies in the nursery during those night shifts so new mothers could get some much-needed sleep. ❤️
And Doreen hasn’t slowed down! Her busy schedule continues here at Eagle Crest. You can rarely find her in her apartment—if you’re looking for Doreen, your best bet is to head to an activity. Chances are, she’ll be there! 😊
One of Doreen’s favorite hymns is “Trust and Obey.” She recognizes that life brings many challenges, but her faith reminds her to keep trusting God.
Doreen’s story is one of dedication, service, faith, and a lifetime of staying busy and making a difference. We are so grateful to have her as part of our EagleCrest community! 💕🎶
