American Indians and Alaska Natives (AIAN) in California face barriers to receiving needed healthcare.
AIAN adults were more likely to delay care and had higher rates of adverse childhood experiences, suicidal thoughts, and behaviors than California adults overall.
These new fact sheets are the second release in a series of projects funded by the California Rural Indian Health Board through the California Tribal Epidemiology Center. The series aims to provide a deeper understanding of the health and well-being of American Indian and Alaska Native populations across California.
