The final 10 years of life are often shaped decades before they arrive.
That is the idea behind the “marginal decade.”
It asks a deeper question than simply, “How long will I live?”
It asks, “How well will I live?”
Will those years be marked by strength, mobility, independence, clarity, connection, and purpose? Or will they be marked by fatigue, weakness, pain, chronic disease, cognitive decline, medications, falls, and loss of function?
Functional Medicine looks at aging through this bigger lens.
Many of the patterns that affect the marginal decade begin quietly. Blood sugar instability, chronic inflammation, poor sleep, hormone imbalance, gut dysfunction, nutrient deficiencies, toxin exposure, stress overload, and muscle loss can slowly change how the body functions long before a major diagnosis appears.
That is why prevention cannot just mean waiting for disease and reacting later.
Prevention means paying attention to the early signals.
It means asking why the body is tired, inflamed, foggy, hormonally off, metabolically stuck, or recovering poorly.
It means building strength, supporting stable blood sugar, reducing inflammation, improving sleep, protecting brain health, and helping the body regain resilience before decline becomes normal.
At Back On Track 2 Wellness, we help patients look deeper at the systems that shape long-term health and aging.
Because longevity is not just about living longer.
It is about staying strong, clear, capable, and independent for as long as possible.
Your future body is being built today.
