Parenting often starts with regulating ourselves first.

Taking a moment to pause, breathe, and check in with your own emotions can help create calmer and more supportive responses during stressful moments. Progress does not come from being a perfect parent. It comes from being present, reflective, and willing to reset when needed.

Sharing an interesting and eye-opening post that was shared with me by my friend and colleague Marc Kantor. It’s actually an advertisement from the 1960s that promoted Ritalin as a miracle drug for ADHD.

Looking back at how confidently stimulant medications were marketed decades ago is fascinating—and a little unsettling—especially in light of what we now understand about misuse, dependence, and addictive potential. It’s a powerful reminder of how medical narratives evolve over time and why critical thinking, ongoing research, and careful prescribing matter so much.

Worth a read for the historical perspective alone. I’d love to hear others’ thoughts after you’ve seen it.
