On Friday, Dr. Joe Zito and the St. Francis team honored the EMS team from the Port Washington Fire Department. Earlier this year, three medics, Gary Bartunek , Daniel Ricaurte and Rebecca Carvalho, responded to a call for a patient with chest pain. The individual has special needs, and there were challenges in communicating with the patient. The EMS team worked through the situation, alerting the St. Francis ED team, allowing for the patient to be transported to the ER, and ultimately receive a stent. The patient has recovered. The efficient response by the Port Washington Fire Department allowed for the patient to have an efficient recovery. Thank you, first responders!

Our Infusion Center recently hosted a Therapeutic Paint Session. Patients had the opportunity to paint a summer canvas - they were able to relax, have fun and express themselves through art. This was made possible through the generous grant from the Manhasset Women’s Coalition Against Breast Cancer which was facilitated by Pinots Palette.
