Christian “Alex” Alexander Ware age 30, of Tunnel Hill, Georgia walked through the gates of Heaven and into the arms of his loving savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. A lifelong resident of Catoosa County, Alex was saved and baptized at Keith Baptist Church early in his life and attended Grace Church in his later years. He graduated from Heritage High School and was an avid video gamer.
Though Alex had physical disabilities, Gods strength and sovereignty has been displayed all throughout his life. Alex was an advocate for handicap accessibility while serving on the committee for Crossroads Family Unity Park as well as meeting with the Ringgold City Manager and Catoosa County Sheriff to better serve the needs of the handicap in our community. While playing video games, Alex made friends all over the world and through the technology of social media and artificial intelligence he shared his story, his struggles and the saving grace of Jesus Christ in multiple ways. He wrote songs in which he used AI to turn into music tracks and typed out his testimony to share though an online file.
Alex’s life is an example of how God’s strength can be displayed through our weakness. In his testimony that he recently posted he tells about the faithfulness of God to bring him through all storms and dark times that he faced in his life. ALWAYS AHEAD OF ME

For forty-something years, my wife was usually about three steps ahead of me.

I'd be looking for my keys. She'd already put them by the door.

I'd mention supper. She'd already made reservations.

She unexpectedly passed earlier this year.

And once again ...she was ahead of me.

Mike at Wilson Funeral Home told me she had pre-planned her arrangements last year.

He said she dropped by with a friend.

They had just had lunch and somehow decided the next logical thing to do was to drop by the funeral home and pre-plan their arrangements.

He said he remembered them laughing at times and reminiscing as he helped them.

I didn't know a thing about it.

Everything was taken care of.

I had to laugh a little when he told me …

That sounded just like her, and I knew exactly who that friend was.

I never knew, but then …that was her.

Even when I thought I had plans for us..she'd quietly made one more

…for me.

Yep, that was just like her.

Matthew Travis Gilliland, age 35, of Rossville, went home to be with the Lord on September 2, 2026. He was born in Winder, Ga and moved to the Rossville area at a young age. Some his favorite things was Hart Tools, Dragons and fireball.
He loved messing with his kids. Matthew had a big heart and loved everyone, mostly his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his step-father, Christopher Bentley; niece, Angel; grandmother, Sue Nix; and grandfather, James Bragg Sr.
Matthew is survived by his wife, Diamond Gilliland; mother, Denise Bentley; nieces, Serenity Kings, Kyky, Rosey, Sophie, Launa, Willie, Kyleigh, Artemis, Syrenn, Ariyah, Kaydie, Ell, Sutton, and Lilly; nephews, Ryder, Nathan, Nolan, James, Ethen, Whyatt, Parker, Clayton, Tyree, Zack, Cayson, and Jaxtyn; sisters-in-law, Angelis, Gerrika, Judy, Jasmine, Kitty, Heavenlee, Everleigh, Linda, and Courtney; brothers-in-laws, Ben, Josh, Codey Hardey “Bubba”, and Joe; brothers, Daniel Gilliland and Rusty Gilliland; in-laws, Audra and Steve Krebs, James and Callie Bragg; step daughter, Emily; and aunt & uncle, Sandra and Tony Watts.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 12, 2026, in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor David Harris officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the service time on Saturday. Arrangements by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home-Fort Oglethorpe Chapel.

Pearl Jessie Whitener Suttles, 81, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 7, 2026.
Pearl was born in Greenback, Tennessee, to the late Jesse Edward Lee Whitener and Elmyra Dorty Whitener. She was a lifelong resident of the Rossville area and a faithful member of Old Fort Baptist Church.
Pearl loved the Lord and faithfully served Him throughout her life. For many years, she used her God-given musical talents as the pianist at her church, helping lead others in worship through the ministry of music. Her Christian faith was an important part of her life, and she leaves behind a testimony of faithful service and devotion to her Lord.
Above all, Pearl treasured her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her kindness, faith, and love for those around her will be remembered by all who knew her, and she will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, Pearl was preceded in death by her loving husband, James B. Suttles; grandchild, Zachary; and siblings, Jacob Whitener and Louise Whitener.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Brian (Angie) Suttles; grandchildren, Kain and Kate; sisters, Clara Statham and Rosa Lee Heatherly; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at the funeral home.

Garland Franklin Nance age 90, of Ringgold, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 7, 2026. A lifelong resident of the Keith Community, Garland was a long-time member Keith Baptist Church, a deacon for approximately fifty years and the full-time organist for over sixty years. In his early years, he was a member of Smith Chapel Methodist Church; a relationship that he retained to this day as he kept their grounds mowed all throughout his life.
Garland worked at Combustion Engineering as a draftsman for over thirty-six years before retiring and served on the Catoosa County School Board for thirty years. He was known for helping others in his community and for ditch digging as he helped many people with waterlines. When Garland wasn’t working or helping others, he was often found at his happy place, “Up on the hill” behind his house farming and spending time in Gods creation. He was a vital part of the Keith community and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Garland is preceded in his death by his wife, Jeneece Nance; their son, Philip Nance; his parents, Lloyd and Bessie Silvey Nance as well as his brother, Donald P. Nance.
He is survived by his children, Mark Nance and Cindy Johnson (Tom Grant); grandchildren, Michael (Rebekah) Nance, Brad (Becky) Nance, Steven (Jamie) Nance, Joseph Nance, Julie Nance, Nathan Johnson and Emily (Dustin) Salter, as well as many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Clyde Edward Stewart, age 73, resident of Rossville, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026 at Pruitt Health in LaFayette, Georgia.
Mr. Stewart, son of the late Charles Eugene Stewart and Dorothy Lee Summey Stewart, was born April 10, 1953 in Savannah, Georgia. He worked in construction for many years to include working at C&R Construction. Many years ago, Mr. Stewart enjoyed swimming with his friends at the Trussel Creek in East Ridge and roller skating at Southland Roller Rink in Brainerd. He also enjoyed hunting and camping. While at home, he enjoyed watching classic westerns and Star Trek movies. He also enjoyed listening to classic oldies music. The family remembers him as a prankster – always smiling and laughing.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Payne; a brother, Bob Stewart; and a grandson, Austin Lewis.
Mr. Stewart is survived by two children, Mark Stewart and Joanne Lewis; four brothers, Jack (Kathy) Stewart, Ron (Lisa) Stewart, Glen (Renee) Stewart, and Mike (Tonya) Stewart; four grandchildren, Lany Wooten, Tristen Stewart, Caleb Stewart, and Zoe Stewart; two great-grandchildren, Kataleia Lee Wooten and River Wooten; many other relatives and friends.

Bonnie Louise Parden, 86, of Chattanooga, passed away peacefully at a local care facility on September 4, 2026.
Born in Tracy City, Tennessee, Bonnie spent most of her life in the Chattanooga area. She loved to crochet and enjoyed challenging herself with puzzles, but most of all, she loved her family—especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Parden, in 2000; her mother, Monnie Meeks; her father, Howard Meeks Sr.; her brothers, Howard Meeks Jr. and James David Leon Meeks; and her sisters, Phyllis Ann Cooke, Carolyn Sue Meeks, and Nancy Lee Conner.

She is survived by her children, Ronnie (Jane) Parden and Rodney (Brinda) Parden; her brother, Billy Gene Meeks; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 3:00–8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, in the Parlor of Wilson Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. A graveside service will be held at Beautiful Greenwood Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday September 9, 2026.

Karen Teresa Carroll, age 65, of Flintstone, GA went home to be with the Lord on September 4, 2026. Born April 26, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Janice Massey. Karen was baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in her youth and remained faithful throughout her life.

Karen was a lifelong homemaker who enjoyed cultivating roses and doing crafts of all kinds. She loved holidays, especially Christmas, and always decorated the entire house and yard for each season. Her Christmas village was legendary. Her family and friends remember her sweet, kind spirit who always had a smile for them.

Karen is survived by her husband of 49 years, Rodney Carroll I, and her sister Dixie (Kirt) Sjostrom. She was the proud mother to her six children, who survived her: Rodney (Roxanne) Carroll II, Timothy (Kate) Carroll, Wesley (Pam) Carroll, Shannon (Matt) Clark, Stephanie (Zach) Gravitt, and Jesse (Brittany) Carroll. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Rex Carroll; John-Henry & Eva Carroll; Braxton, Katie, Marshall, Lincoln, and Maggie Carroll; Elena Clark; Lucas Carroll; Josie and Benny Carroll.

Susan Cheryl Gamble, 67, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2026. She was born on October 24, 1958 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Clarence Edward "Eddie" Miller and Brenda Joyce Manning.
Susan was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was an RN by profession and spent her life caring for others. Her compassionate heart extended far beyond her work, as she was always there for her family whenever she was needed. Caring for others was simply a part of who Susan was.

She especially cherished her grandchildren and would do anything for them. They brought great joy and love into her life, and she treasured every moment she shared with them. Susan also had a special place in her heart for her "mean kitty cat," Sophie, who kept her company and was very much a part of her family.

Susan is preceded in death by her son, Daniel Dewayne Boatner; husband, Jimbo Gamble; mother, Brenda Joyce Wright; and her grandmother, Christine Manning.

Susan is survived by her father, Clarence Edward "Eddie" Miller; her daughter, Michelle (Chris) Case; grandsons, Thurston Gage Phillips and Jacob Nicholas Wilson; granddaughter, Kelly Christine Byas; sisters, Cindy Miller Smith and Tammy (Brian) Thornburg; brothers, Charles Miller, Marty Dickerson, and Chuck (Kim) Dickerson; along with a plethora of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Gregory Templeton age 53, of Chickamauga, Georgia, went home to be with The Lord on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
Greg was raised in the Baptist faith and carried with him a strong spirit of kindness, generosity, and determination. He was a gifted mechanic with an incredible ability to understand how things worked. He had a love for tinkering. His knowledge and natural talent eventually led him to pursue a career as an entrepreneur.
Greg shared his life with Jennie, the mother of his children. Together, they built a family and made countless memories along the way. Their journey was filled with moments of love, laughter, challenges, and cherished memories that will remain a lasting part of their family’s story. Jennie and their children will forever hold close the memories of the life they shared with Greg and the love he gave to them.
Greg had a deep love for music and enjoyed sharing his musical talents with others. He spent time as a part-time cowbell player for the band Aunt Betty. Music was not his only gift. Greg was also graced with a natural talent for dancing and had a way of bringing joy where the music took him.
Above all, Greg had a heart of gold. He was the kind of person who would gladly give you the shirt off his back to someone in need, never hesitating to help others. His generosity and willingness to lend a hand were a true reflection of a person he was.
