Today we honor Juneteenth—a day that commemorates freedom, resilience, and an important chapter in our nation’s history.

At SmartMED, one of the greatest privileges we have is caring for people from many different backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences. Every patient who walks through our doors brings a unique story, and those stories are what makes our community stronger.

As a healthcare organization, we are especially grateful for the countless contributions African American physicians, nurses, laboratory professionals, patient care teams, healthcare administrators, community leaders, and countless other healthcare professionals have made to medicine and patient care. Their work helps advance medical knowledge, improves access to care, strengthens healthcare organizations, and positively impacts the lives of millions of patients.

Today, we celebrate freedom and reaffirm our commitment to treating every patient with dignity, compassion, and respect.

Community Helpers Day was extra special this year!

The SmartMED team had the opportunity to visit Northbrook Preschool and talk with the children about healthcare and what it means to help others in our community. From learning about caring for patients to asking great questions, the kids kept us smiling the entire time.

A special shoutout to Jackson and Lily, who loved helping teach and share what it means to be a community helper! 💓

We’re grateful for opportunities like these to connect with local families and inspire the next generation of caregivers, leaders, and helpers.

We are excited to announce the promotion of Marie Ho**er to Clinical Lead at SmartMED! Marie began with SmartMED in 2023 and has been instrumental in our growth over the past three years. Marie is an exceptional Medical Assistant, but what truly sets her apart is her heart. She finds every opportunity to go above and beyond to deliver the most caring patient experience.

The handwritten get-well soon cards you receive in the mail...💌 Marie. The toys that children receive on the way out of the drive... 🚗Marie. The quick and thoughtful responses to most of our texting communications...💬Marie.

We are so grateful that she has decided to build a career with us and we can't wait to see what she brings to the community in her expanded role.

📣 Heads up, SmartMED family!

Our Drive-Thru Urgent Care will be closed tomorrow, June 12.

If you're feeling under the weather, need treatment for a minor illness or injury, or simply want to get checked out before the closure, we encourage you to stop by today before we close at 4:00 PM.

Please note that our Weight Loss, Wellness, and Primary Care services will remain open tomorrow and continue seeing patients as scheduled.

We're sorry for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. Our Drive-Thru Urgent Care will reopen and be ready to serve you on Monday, June 15.

We are HIRING for a Patient Registration Specialist to join our drive-thru urgent care team! This role is special because it’s the first person our patients encounter and will set the tone for the visit 💗.

This position is predominantly outdoors (under our covered awning) and team-oriented. You must love people and have a kind and cheerful demeanor ☀️.
