🥬 Lettuce Recall Latest
Taylor Farms de Mexico has recalled iceberg lettuce sourced from central Mexico due to its connection to a Cyclospora outbreak. Retail products include select Marketside Iceberg Salad and Shredded Lettuce sold at Walmart, with best-if-used-by dates from July 18–August 3, 2026.
The recalled retail lettuce was sold at select Walmart stores in 15 states, including Georgia. Recalled foodservice lettuce was distributed in 27 states and supplied certain Taco Bell locations. As of July 24, the outbreak included 1,947 illnesses, 98 hospitalizations and no deaths. Confirmed outbreak cases were reported in nine states; Georgia was included in product distribution but not among the nine states reporting confirmed cases.
Cyclospora infection commonly causes frequent, watery diarrhea and may also cause loss of appetite, stomach cramps, bloating, nausea, fatigue and weight loss. Symptoms can last for weeks and may improve before returning.
If you have a recalled product, do not eat it. Discard it or return it to the place of purchase, then clean and sanitize any surfaces or containers it touched. Contact your healthcare provider if you develop symptoms, particularly if you ate shredded iceberg lettuce within the two weeks before becoming ill. (770) 475-2377
