Georgia Funeral Directors Association Georgia Funeral Directors Association is the oldest funeral service association in Georgia.

GFDA offers continuing education, approved by state funeral service boards, at various forums and times throughout each year, featuring presentations on topics that are timely, cost-effective, and highly informative to funeral directors and embalmers. GFDA provides information about association activities and funeral service legislative, licensing and regulatory matters to its membership. GFDA also serves as a notification to membership for deaths within the funeral profession, primarily licensed funeral directors, sales associates and/or members of their immediate families. GFDA, the Executive Committee, Executive Director and registered Lobbyist, continuously monitors legislation of interest to the funeral service profession and expresses views of the association to elected leadership of Georgia. Additionally, the Lobbyist and Executive Director maintain close working relationships with state regulatory agencies, related funeral industry organizations, the insurance industry, and the business and legal communities. GFDA is the only National Funeral Directors Association state affiliate association in Georgia and corresponds with members of the Georgia Congressional Delegation regarding federal issues of concern to the funeral profession. GFDA, through its Executive Committee and Executive Director, serves as a resource center for information on all aspects of funeral service.

The Georgia Department of Public Health State Office of Vital Records has implemented an updated Application for Disinterment/Reinterment Permit in alignment with Senate Bill 146 (SB 146) and revisions to O.C.G.A. § 31-10-20 governing the disinterment and reinterment of human remains.

We regret to inform you Michael Ted Kiser, Father of Kyle Kiser, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Ted’s life will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at West Georgia Worship Center in Bremen, Georgia. Ted will lie in state at West Georgia Worship Center from 2:00 p.m until the funeral begins at 4:00 p.m., where family and friends are invited to gather for visitation. The funeral service to honor Ted's life will be held at West Georgia Worship Center immediately following the visitation, at 4:00 PM. Following the funeral service, Ted will be laid to rest at Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Bremen, Georgia. For Mr. Kiser’s full obituary and online condolences visit
