I recently got back from Croatia, and this is still on my mind.

Our group was visiting , a beautiful winery on top of a mountain, sunset in front of us in the conversation turned to Atlanta traffic. I had to laugh because I do the exact same thing. Wherever I am, I can find a way to be somewhere else.

Noticing where your attention goes is not a flaw- it’s information. It tells you what feels unfinished, what feels safe and what feels hard to stay with.

So, where are you right now? One word.

For a few years now, a visit to the Pensa family has been part of my Croatia retreat. What started with me walking past their home and discovering their olive oil has become one of those places I look forward to returning to with each group.

This year, we walked through their olive grove, learned more about the trees and their process, tasted their oils, shared food and stories, and of course, enjoyed some of their award-winning bottles.

I love that our retreats aren’t just about seeing beautiful places. They’re about experiencing them, meeting the people who call them home, and noticing what we can learn along the way.

And the olive tree has plenty to teach us.

Spending time in Sweden is always fun and educational. This is what’s on my mind this week: sustainability. The Swedes are ranked high when it comes to sustainable development.

Sometimes sustainability looks like the little things.

In this Malmö neighborhood, even an ordinary rental apartment community has spaces designed to bring people together and support nature, from wooden community boxes to insect hotels that help create habitats for pollinators. 🐝

It’s a beautiful reminder that sustainability isn’t only about big changes. It can be about creating spaces where people, plants, insects, and the community can all thrive together.

Small ideas. Shared spaces. A more sustainable neighborhood. 💚
