You’ll notice the familiar setup and materials we have here 🎉

Congratulations to all the children & families who have the opportunity to attend Montessori schools who can provide the enriched environment & education for life we ALL need 🫶

I created Tier 3 Montessori
1) to reach children & families who have been sent away or who may have never been allowed access into a Montessori school

2) as a training ground under my professional supervision as a board certified & licensed behavioral healthcare provider for teachers and assistants to work here a few hours a week to LEARN to work with children outside their current scope of competence in traditional Montessori environments where children with special needs are typically sent away.

3) to reduce teacher burnout & turnover by building the skills required to PREVENT behavior escalations to severe & dangerous levels 🫶

4) so I could have a place to work ethically, effectively and with compassion; there is not a Montessori school or ABA center where I have been able to fully support children & families in all I can do so I had to build my own space for it 🎉

Our entire educational system in this country is run by “behavior techs” but without the professional training & support so it’s about time we bring everyone up to speed on this work here 🎉

📣 Oh, this is so good!

This is what we do here and I love it so much - I love empowering children by empowering the adults, and the way we do that is to TEACH the adults not only what to do but HOW to do it and when, and mainly how to fade themselves out!

🎯 This is a must read, and I’m adding it to our Tier 3 trainings 🎉

“You need to have the responsibilities and tasks of the 1:1 clearly defined on the IEP. This will prevent any problems later, should your child not make progress or find themselves in a disciplinary setting due to behaviors (behaviors you wanted to be addressed by having a 1:1). You also do not just want someone doing these tasks for your child. The whole idea is to guide and ultimately teach the skills and “fade the aide” as they say. The goal is that your child can do these things on their own, right?”

“You are not getting a babysitter! The ultimate goal is to “fade the aide” and so you want someone who can teach and guide your child towards independence.” 🙋🏻‍♀️
