Everyone is calling 2026 the “Year of Fiber.”
From Whole Foods to McDonald’s… even soda brands are adding it.
But here’s the catch 👇
Seeing “added fiber” on a package doesn’t mean you’re getting the real health benefits.
Many ultra-processed foods now add isolated fibers like inulin or maltodextrin.
These can additives may help, for example with gut motility, but they’re not the same as the fibers in real plant foods.
The strongest evidence for lowering risk of cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and cognitive decline comes from fiber in its natural food matrix — beans, greens, legumes, whole plants.
So instead of chasing fiber-fortified snacks…
🍲 cook real food
🌱 eat diverse plants
🦠 feed your microbiome
Your gut will know the difference.
