The Feldenkrais Method of Movement education is used primarly as it helps people re-connect to their natural ability to move more efficiently. It works with the brain and nervous system to create change in overly tense muscles, creating more stability, flexibility, balance, fluidity and less effort in daily activities and althletics. It allows what is not working to do so and emphases the support of the skeleton and its interconnections of how movement flows through it as an area of learning. Lisa's own personal healing journey led her into the Feldenkrais Method. After suffering a back injury, Lisa appreciated physical therapy enough to become one herself. She was able to sit, stand, and walk about 10 minutes, but then her pain returned. It was not until working with the Feldenkrais Method that she was able to "unlearn" the muscular habits that kept her locked in pain. Today, Lisa is pain free and teaches this awareness method to her students and patients, allowing them to become more aware of movement, breath and habit in order to create more movement freedom. Whether you are looking for more grace or power, efficiency, or less pain...Feldenkrais can help.
