I'm excited to introduce Restore Saturdays, a new quarterly workshop series for women seeking deeper healing and emotional restoration. Our first workshop, Come Home to Yourself: An Inner Child Healing Workshop, combines trauma-informed education, guided reflection, and practical tools to help you understand how childhood experiences shape your present and support lasting healing. Whether you're just beginning your journey or continuing the work you've already started, I'd love for you to join us—register here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1993842481535?aff=oddtdtcreator

Trauma doesn’t always show up as flashbacks. Sometimes it looks like overthinking, shutting down, staying busy, people-pleasing, irritability, or feeling like your body never fully relaxes.
That’s your nervous system doing what it learned to do to survive.
Healing isn’t about “getting over it.”
It’s about helping your body feel safe enough to slow down, soften, and respond differently.
Trauma recovery can look like:
✨ understanding your triggers
✨ learning how your body holds stress
✨ building emotional safety
✨ reconnecting with yourself
✨ creating new patterns that support peace instead of survival
If you’ve been feeling stuck in survival mode, you don’t have to figure it out alone. Healing is possible, and your nervous system can learn safety again.
At Restore Wellness Counseling, we help women, girls, and couples heal from trauma and reconnect with themselves in a safe, compassionate space.
If you’re ready to begin, you can book a free consultation through the link.

Restore Wellness Counseling provides trauma therapy, couples counseling, and faith-based therapy for women, girls, and couples healing from trauma, anxiety, childhood wounds, and relationship challenges in Florida.

The average couple waits about 6 years to seek counseling and usually at the very last minute when they are in crisis. Often times, it's one partner that is more committed to the idea of seeking therapy than the other.

"Many couples come into therapy thinking they have already done everything they could. There also could be a fear of failing. One or both of the individuals may have a sense of hopelessness already instilled.

As a therapist, you see that this couple may have just fallen short of looking at new possibilities."

Have you considered how your past history of childhood trauma can drive your perfectionism or unrealistic high expectations for yourself? Culture tells us to aim high in every area of our life. But what if that’s driven by low self esteem, low self worth, having to constantly defend against what people said negatively about you, growing up in poverty, or not feeling taken care of or looked out for. Let’s chat in the comments!
