By “vibes”, I mean that I massage based on…
* my client’s health history (previous injuries, chronic pain patterns, limited ROM, recent or past surgeries, medications, etc. — all of these factors guide my hands-on approach)
* visual / palpable imbalances that I can see and feel (e.g. one shoulder being more elevated than the other, hip joints struggling with internal and external rotation, muscle/connective tissue feeling more stiff and restricted in a certain area, etc.) *these imbalances aren’t always a sign that something is wrong or needs change, but can be a helpful place to start looking for answers*
* spoken and unspoken feedback from my client (e.g tensing, wincing, fidgeting, & shallow breathing are signals that I probably need to adjust my technique in some way + verbal communication is key 👌🏻)
So, yeah. It’s hard to put a single label on the hands-on work when the hands-on work is constantly ebbing & flowing 🤪
