Three years ago, Batten Funeral Home opened its doors with one simple mission: to care for every family as if they were our own.

Today, as we celebrate our 3rd Anniversary, our hearts are filled with gratitude.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Nortonsville Church of God, with interment to follow at Evergreen Church Cemetery. A reception will follow at D**e Volunteer Fire Company.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Batten Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, VA 22968. Roy will be cremated, and the family will reunite him with his loved ones at Wyatt Mountain Cemetery at a later date.

There’s something special about Friday night lights and Saturday morning sidelines in Greene County.

We’re proud to be a sponsor of Greene Dragons Youth Football and Cheerleading this season.

Because our community continues to trust and support us as your locally owned, family-operated funeral service provider, we’re able to give back to the place we call home. That support doesn’t just keep our doors open, but it allows us to invest in the next generation.

There’s nothing better than seeing these young athletes learn teamwork, discipline, leadership, and heart. The lessons they’re learning on that field and on the sidelines will carry far beyond the game.

To the players, the cheerleaders, the coaches, and the parents who make it all possible — we’re cheering you on this season!
