Today, flags will wave from front porches and chairs will line rainy parade routes across our communities. And throughout the day, all of us at Rumford Hospital will pause with gratitude to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives for our country. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Before patients reach our doors, someone is already responding. πŸš‘

An EMT checking equipment before a shift. A dispatcher answering a call in the middle of the night. A paramedic beginning care on scene. A Med-Care Ambulance crew arriving to help a neighbor in need.

Behind every siren is a team of people making quick decisions, staying calm under pressure, and showing up for the River Valley community day after day.

During EMS Week, we want to thank the EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, first responders, and the teams at Med-Care Ambulance who work alongside us to care for our community. πŸ’™

Hello Summer!? πŸ‘

Heat Advisory Message from Rumford Hospital:

We are glad to finally be seeing some warmer weather across Maine, but with temperatures expected to reach the high 80s today, it is important to take precautions and stay safe in the sun, especially during spring sporting events and other outdoor activities.

A few reminders for staying safe in the heat:
β€’ Drink water regularly throughout the day.
β€’ Limit direct sun exposure during the hottest part of the day, especially between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
β€’ Take breaks in the shade or air conditioning whenever possible.
β€’ Keep a close eye on young children, older adults, and those with chronic health conditions.

Enjoy the sunshine, stay safe, we’re here if you need us! β˜€οΈ
