Create Power Yoga At Create Power Yoga, we create a space where each person can feel safe and honored
Start your journey with our community. Why Yoga?

We are passionate about creating a community where each person feels safe and honored as their authentic self. We realize that everyone has different goals and reasons for coming to the mat; our mission is to honor each student in a peaceful, friendly, and non-judgemental environment. We offer consistent, challenging experiences in our classes, while helping you learn to choose what is best for yo

ur body and practice. After just one class, yoga reduces stress levels, increases flexibility, and improves brain function. Stick with your practice, and yoga lowers blood pressure, improves lung capacity, relieves chronic neck and back pain, lowers blood sugar levels, strengthens bones, improves balance, increases strength, and significantly decreases anxiety. Yoga with us will give you these benefits, and a community to support you in your goals. Whether you are a brand new student attending your first class or a seasoned yogi looking to take your practice to the next level, we invite you to meet us on your mat and let our compassionate, experienced teachers guide you in developing your own personal practice. We are located in East Providence, RI, and serve the Greater Providence area (Providence, Rumford, East Providence, Pawtucket, Seekonk, Rehoboth & beyond).

250 classes 🥳

That's a thousand small decisions to show up when it would've been easier not to.

Tricia rolled out her mat for the first time not knowing if she'd stick with it, and this month she hit 250.

The hot room and the warm room. Commitment to a practice that asks for nothing but showing up.

She's not the same person who walked in the first time. Not because she's "more flexible" or "better" at yoga, but because she's learned more about her.

Drop a 💛 for Tricia in the comments and give her a high-five in the studio!

Yoga is bigger than the spot of your mat.

The physical practice - asana - is just one limb of an eight-limbed path. The rest asks us to explore how we relate, how we breathe, how we focus, and how we connect to something larger than ourselves.

So we're creating space for that exploration.

Introducing the CPY Book Club. A relaxed, inclusive gathering to read thoughtfully, talk openly, and grow together off the mat.

Our first read: Yamas & Niyamas by Deborah Adele
When: Monday, June 15 at 7pm
Where: Create Power Yoga

No pressure. No homework. Just connection and curiosity.

By Friday at 6pm, you'll have survived a full week.

The emails. The notifications. The low‑hum anxiety you've stopped noticing.

So here's what we're NOT going to do in Kathleen's Yin class:

❌ No pushing
❌ No deadlines
❌ No "just 5 more breaths"

Instead:
Long, supported postures. Connective tissue work. A nervous system that finally gets the memo to settle down.

This is a monthly 90‑minute Yin pop‑up. It's simple on paper, and deeply effective in practice.

👇 Save this for Friday afternoon when you're debating whether to go.
Share it with a friend who can use an unwind (isn't that all of them?)

Most yoga studios give you a good stretch.
Kristen says we gave her something else:

“CPY is a great community that extends beyond the mat, an aspect I’m always looking to incorporate. Petra and the team are super warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable. Can’t thank you all enough!”

That “beyond the mat” part?
That’s sangha. That’s people who notice when you miss a week and are excited to see you in class.
That’s the quiet magic no app or video can replicate.

👇 Tag someone who makes your life better on and off the mat.
Save this for the days you forget that community matters.

You’ve been told yoga is just stretching.
It’s not. And that’s not me being precious — it's me being honest.

Asana (the poses) is only 1/8 of the practice.

The other 7 limbs?
Breath. Ethics. Focus. Stillness.
We just use movement as the doorway.

A stretch class changes how your muscles feel.
A yoga practice changes how you meet chaos.

👇 Save this for the next time someone says “yoga isn't a real workout.”
Share it with that friend who thinks they’re “not flexible enough for yoga.”

You don’t need to touch your toes.
You just need to be curious.

Come for the movement. Stay for the rest.

The quietest radical act?
Speaking kindly to your own body.

Because here’s what we've seen happen over and over:
People who learn to honor their own limits?
They naturally respect everyone else's boundaries.
People who feel truly welcomed here?
They carry that welcome into every other room they enter.

Change doesn't start with grand gestures.
It starts with a regulated nervous system showing up differently.
Calmer. Kinder. More capable of connection.

👇 Save this as your permission slip to be gentle with yourself today.
Share it with someone who needs to hear they matter, from you and from themselves.

Your practice isn't just for you.
It's for everyone you'll meet today.
