H Street Construction Update

The water line replacement project on H Street from 17th Street to Woodland has been extended a little longer than originally anticipated.

The road will not be completely closed, as we are coordinating with the school district to help accommodate events taking place before the start of the school year. However, motorists should expect traffic restrictions and possible delays while work is completed.

Please use caution when traveling through the area, watch for workers and equipment, follow all posted traffic signs, and allow extra travel time if possible.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to complete these important infrastructure improvements. Thank you for your continued cooperation!

Road construction and maintenance are investments in our community's future. While road work can sometimes cause temporary delays, these projects help improve safety, extend the life of our streets, and reduce the need for more costly repairs down the road.

Regular maintenance helps:
🚧 Improve driving conditions
🚧 Increase safety for motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians
🚧 Prevent small issues from becoming major repairs
🚧 Protect taxpayer investments by extending the life of our roadways
🚧 Support emergency services, businesses, and daily travel

We understand construction can be inconvenient, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding while improvements are underway. Every project completed today helps create a safer, smoother, and more reliable transportation system for tomorrow.

Did you know that property taxes have helped build American communities for more than 200 years?

Long before modern cities had utility fees and other funding sources, property taxes were one of the primary ways communities paid for essential public services. In Idaho's early days, property taxes helped fund schools, roads, bridges, public buildings, fire protection, and other local improvements that allowed communities like Rupert to grow and thrive.

As Rupert developed in the early 1900s, property tax revenue helped support the infrastructure needed for a growing townβ€”from streets and public facilities to parks and community services.

While the services have evolved over the years, the purpose remains much the same: investing in the community and maintaining the public infrastructure that residents rely on every day.

On behalf of the Mayor, City Council, and employees of the City of Rupert, we extend our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the victims, their families, the City of Twin Falls, and everyone impacted by this heartbreaking incident at In-N-Out Burger.

We are also grateful for the swift response of law enforcement, firefighters, EMS personnel, and all first responders who answered the call with courage and compassion.

In times like these, our communities stand together. Twin Falls, please know that Rupert is keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.
