🎃 “There is magic in the night when pumpkins glow by moonlight.” 👻🍂

What a SPOOK-tacular week at Wardwell! From heartfelt moments of remembrance and creative fall fun to spooky stories, furry friends, and a Halloween celebration full of unforgettable characters, we’ve been busy making memories, sharing laughs, and enjoying a little Halloween magic! 🧡🎃

Monday began with a beautiful and meaningful Memorial Service as we gathered to honor and remember the cherished residents we have lost over the past year. ❤️🕯️ A very special thank you to the wonderful team at Affinity Care of Maine and the Harbour Singers for helping make this such a touching and memorable tribute. Your compassion, beautiful music, and heartfelt presence brought comfort to all who attended. ❤️🎶 Later, residents enjoyed a thoughtful presentation with Magdalana Grace about friendship and grief before bringing out their artistic talents for watercolor pumpkin painting! 🎨🎃 We also squeezed in some friendly Skee-Ball competition, where everyone was aiming for that high score! 🎯

Tuesday brought out our competitive side! Cribbage Club got our minds working before residents gathered for a lively game of Dominoes! 🁢🏆 We also enjoyed a little classic comedy with a Laurel & Hardy double feature, proving that good old-fashioned laughter never goes out of style! 🎬😂

Wednesday was filled with Wardwell favorites! Bingo got everyone hoping for those lucky numbers before our Helping Hands crew got creative assembling some frightfully delicious spooky snacks! 👻🍪 Later, Mindy Muse helped us stretch, relax, and find our inner calm with an afternoon of chair yoga! 🧘‍♀️💕 A wonderful mix of tricks, treats, and tranquility!

Thursday brought a few chills and plenty of smiles! 👻📖 Rob had us on the edge of our seats with a round of spooky ghost stories, while some gentle seated cardio kept us moving! We also enjoyed a special visit from Minnie the dog and Grace, who brought plenty of tail wags, cuddles, and puppy love! 🐾❤️ Nothing brightens a day quite like a furry friend!

And Friday was a HALLOWEEN EXTRAVAGANZA! 🎃👻🧡 We kicked off the festivities with Anatole Brown from Dyer Library, who took us on a spooky virtual tour of S**o, sharing eerie tales and local history! 🕸️🏘️ Halloween Jeopardy with Rachel kept our brains buzzing before the talented Sharon Wright treated us to a festive afternoon piano concert! 🎹🎶 Beth added a delicious finishing touch with homemade October-inspired ice cream! 🍦🍁

But the real stars of the show were our fabulous Halloween costumes! 🌟🎭 Wardwell was filled with some truly unforgettable characters!

🧙‍♀️ A Witch – Brewing up a little Halloween magic and just the right amount of mischief!

😈 A Devil – Devilishly charming and ready to stir up some trouble!

☂️ Mary Poppins – Practically perfect in every way, bringing a spoonful of sugar and a whole lot of charm!

🪄 A Fairy Godmother – Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo! Making Halloween wishes come true, one wave of the wand at a time!

👮 A Police Officer – Keeping the peace and making sure our Halloween hooligans stayed in line! No speeding on broomsticks allowed!

🦌 A Deer – Oh, DEER! This adorable woodland visitor had everyone fawning over the costume!

✈️ An Army Pilot – Reporting for duty and flying high with Halloween spirit!

💋 Marilyn Monroe – Bringing a little Hollywood glamour, sparkle, and timeless star power to Wardwell!

🖤 A Nun – Keeping a watchful eye on all the Halloween shenanigans and making sure everyone was on their best behavior! 😉

😇 An Angel – Bringing a little heavenly sweetness to balance out all that Halloween mischief!

🪅 A Piñata – Talk about a SMASHING costume! Bursting with color, personality, and Halloween fun! Just look, no swinging allowed! 😂🍬

🏄‍♂️ A Retired Surfer Dude – Surf’s up… or maybe it’s nap time! Trading big waves for easy days and proving that you’re never too old to hang ten! 🤙🌊

From witches and devils to angels, Hollywood stars, and a surfer dude just riding the retirement wave, our Wardwell crew certainly knew how to dress to impress! 🎃✨

As we wrap up another wonderful week, we’re reminded that life at Wardwell is all about the little moments that bring us together. From honoring cherished memories to creating new ones filled with laughter, friendship, and fun, there’s always something special happening here. ❤️🍂

🍂 Memory Lane Monday: A Time to Remember 🕊️

Today at The Wardwell, we gathered for a heartfelt Memorial Service to honor and remember the cherished residents who have passed away over the past year. ❤️

Each resident who walks through our doors becomes part of the Wardwell family, leaving behind special memories, lasting friendships, and a legacy that will always hold a place in our hearts.

Our service was filled with moments of reflection, remembrance, and gratitude as we celebrated the lives of those we have lost. Through meaningful readings, the lighting of remembrance candles, and beautiful music, we took time to honor the individuals who brought so much warmth, laughter, and love into our community.

A heartfelt thank you to Affinity Care of Maine for helping us make this special tribute possible, and to the Harbour Singers for sharing their beautiful voices, including a touching rendition of “I’ll Fly Away.” Your kindness and compassion made today’s gathering especially meaningful.

To the families and loved ones of those we remembered, please know that your loved ones will always be part of The Wardwell’s story.

Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. ❤️

Another fantastic fall week at Wardwell! From live music and festive crafts to pumpkin picking and a special visit from local students, we've been keeping busy making memories, sharing laughs, and enjoying everything this wonderful season has to offer! 🎃❤️

Monday started with a little seated cardio before welcoming back Wardwell favorite Jim Ciampa for an afternoon of beautiful piano music! 🎹🎶 Later, residents brought out their competitive spirit for a lively game of Skeeball, hoping to beat the top scorers' record! 🎯

Tuesday was packed with fun and creativity! Cribbage Club and Wordle got our minds working before Deb Brundage brought the energy with seated Line Dancing! 💃🎶 Later, Greg and Kim led a BOO-tiful craft activity where residents created adorable Hoop and Fabric Ghosts. 👻🎨 There were plenty of laughs and some wonderfully spooky creations!

Wednesday brought more Wardwell favorites! Bingo kicked things off before residents lent Brian a helping hand with vegetable and soup preparation. 🍲 Later, we welcomed back The Chris & Mike Show for an afternoon of great music and entertainment! 🎤🎶

Thursday was all about getting into the fall spirit! 🍂🎃 Residents headed out with Rob for a visit to Leary Farm, Inc. Pumpkin Patch to pick out pumpkins for our upcoming painting activity.

Friday brought something extra special! 💕 We wore PINK in support of Breast Cancer Awareness and welcomed students from S**o Middle School for a wonderful Kindness Day visit! 🎃🎨 Residents and students came together to paint pumpkins and even got a few games of skeeball in. What a wonderful way to bring generations together through kindness, creativity, and connection! We also kept active with Better Balance and tested our knowledge with a Classic Movie Match Game! 🎬✨

From music and laughter to festive fall fun and meaningful connections, it's been another week filled with moments worth remembering. ❤️🍁

👻🎃 A BOO-TIFUL Time at Wardwell! 🎃👻

Who knew making ghosts could be so much fun?! 👻🧡

Our residents had an absolute BLAST getting into the Halloween spirit with our Boo-tiful Hoop & Fabric Ghosts craft activity! 🎨✂️ From lots of laughter and creativity to a few friendly ghosts coming to life, it was a spook-tacular afternoon filled with fun!

Each ghost had its own unique personality, and we just loved seeing everyone’s creativity shine! 👻✨

There’s nothing scary about having this much fun! 🧡🖤

No tricks, just treats and a whole lot of BOO-tiful memories! 🎃👻🍁

Another wonderful fall week at Wardwell has come and gone! 🍂🍁 From festive celebrations and live entertainment to friendly competition and heartwarming connections, there was no shortage of fun and laughter to share!

Monday kicked off with an informative health discussion led by BobbiJo from Amedisys, followed by an afternoon concert with Chris Skidgel! 🎶 Residents also put their noses to the test with our Guess the Scent game, featuring familiar autumn fragrances and a little reminiscing along the way! 🍎🍂

Tuesday kept everyone moving with Cribbage Club and Bean Bag Bootcamp! 🎯💪 We also welcomed representatives from S**o City Hall for absentee voting, giving residents an opportunity to make their voices heard! 🗳️

Wednesday brought some familiar Wardwell favorites! Bingo had everyone hoping for a winning card, while Helping Hands with Brian got residents involved in some seasonal kitchen preparations. 🍲 And of course, our beloved furry friend Daisy stopped by to spread some extra love and smiles! 🐾❤️

Thursday was all about OKTOBERFEST! 🇩🇪🥨 Residents traveled to Germany during Armchair Travel before enjoying a delicious German-inspired lunch! The festivities continued with live Bavarian music and its history from John Knox. Prost to a wonderful celebration! 🎶🍂

And today we’re wrapping up the week with a little exercise, live entertainment from newcomer Joe Duford, bringing us country and folk favorites, and a fun twist on Tic-Tac-Toe using bean bags! 🎸🎯 A great way to finish another busy week!

🇩🇪🥨 PROST! Oktoberfest Fun at The Wardwell! 🍂🎶

What a WUNDERBAR (wonderful) day at The Wardwell! 🇩🇪 We brought a little Bavarian flair to our community today with a festive Oktoberfest celebration filled with delicious food, lively music, laughter, and plenty of GEMÜTLICHKEIT (a German word for warmth, comfort, and togetherness)! ❤️

✈️ We kicked off our festivities with an armchair adventure to Germany, exploring the beautiful sights, culture, and traditions of this fascinating country!

🥨 GUTEN APPETIT! (Enjoy your meal!) Our culinary team treated everyone to a special German-inspired Oktoberfest luncheon, bringing a taste of Bavaria right to our tables!

🎶 OOMPAH-PAH! The festivities continued with live entertainment from John Knox, who filled the afternoon with Bavarian melodies and familiar favorites. What a wonderful way to celebrate!

From delicious food and festive tunes to wonderful company, our Oktoberfest celebration was truly a day to remember!

October is off to a wonderful start here at Wardwell! From live music and fall crafts to a little nostalgia and Halloween fun, it's been another week filled with laughter, creativity, and special moments together! 🎃❤️

Monday got us moving with seated cardio before welcoming back one of our favorite entertainers, Kevin Farley! ☘️🎶 His Irish music was a wonderful way to kick off the week. Later, residents took a trip down memory lane during our Facebook Photo Review, revisiting photos from our Wardwell Prom and other special moments! 📸❤️

Tuesday brought plenty of creativity and fun! Cribbage Club started the morning before Kim D. led Craft Corner, where residents made autumn leaf bowls using air dry clay. 🍁🎨 We also enjoyed the final official S**o CHAT Bike Rides of the season and tested our knowledge with a fun Guess the Classic Car game! 🚲🚗

Wednesday was all about familiar favorites and fond memories! Bingo brought out some friendly competition before we welcomed Vi Hussey for a special afternoon reminiscing about Wardwell's history. 🏡❤️ Residents enjoyed sharing stories and memories over cookies and punch. What a wonderful way to celebrate Wardwell's past! 🍪

Thursday was filled with artistic inspiration! 🎨 Norman B. shared his knowledge of Pablo Picasso during Art Appreciation, followed by Picasso inspired collage self-portraits with Diane Lent. 🖼️✨ We also offered Wardwell Comfort Connections with Tim True, providing an opportunity for support and meaningful conversation. ❤️

And Friday is bringing a sweet finish to the week! 🎃🍫 Residents will be baking Chocolate Pumpkin Brownies with Rachel, enjoying Better Bar Balance, and welcoming back Jay Staples for an afternoon of live music! 🎸🎶 We'll wrap things up with Name That Halloween Tune for a little spooky seasonal fun! 👻🎵

It’s Flashback Friday at Wardwell! As September came to a close and October made its arrival, we enjoyed another week filled with music, games, creativity, outings, and plenty of fall fun!

Monday started with a lively Social with Lori from Affinity, always a great opportunity for conversation around the table! Later, Tom Dyhrberg returned to Wardwell with his wonderful guitar and vocals, followed by a little friendly competition with TEN-Z Dice! 🎸🎲

Tuesday brought plenty of opportunities to stay busy and have some fun! Cribbage Club got the morning started, followed by a fascinating David Attenborough ocean documentary. Later, residents brought out their competitive side with Skeeball before getting creative during Craft Corner with Kim D., making festive String & Balloon Pumpkins! 🎃🎨

Wednesday was filled with some Wardwell favorites! Bingo brought out the competitive spirit before we headed out to Giles Farm Stand to celebrate harvest season with apples, donuts, and c***r! 🍎🍩 We finished the afternoon with a cozy Warm C***r Circle and some good old-fashioned camaraderie. 🍂☕

Thursday was all about welcoming October! 🎃🍁 We decked out Wardwell for the season with Tree & Table Decorating, followed by a visit from Daisy Dog and Michael for some furry love! 🐾❤️ Later, residents shared some laughs with Modified Musical Chairs and enjoyed a little history with The American Experience: The Gilded Age.

And today, we’re finishing the week on a high note! 🎶 Residents headed out for a Walmart shopping trip, got moving with a Better Balance Exercise Blitz, and this afternoon, the Lighthouse Jubilees are back to fill Wardwell with classic favorites and plenty of fun! 🎤💃

From fall outings and c***r to music, games, creativity, and plenty of laughs along the way, it was another week full of moments worth remembering. ❤️🍁
