Today we pause to remember the lives taken by illicitly manufactured fentanyl and to support the families forever changed by this crisis.
Fentanyl is a powerful medication when used safely under the care of a physician. Outside of medical settings, it is a deadly poison—often mixed into counterfeit pills without the user’s knowledge.
As California’s physician anesthesiologists, the CSA is committed to:
Educating the public about the real risks
Supporting expanded access to naloxone
Advocating for prevention and treatment resources
Reducing stigma around substance use and mental health
Together, we can protect more lives.
